A hit like that has the same effect as a car crash without a seatbelt - do you think that 6-year old's should be allowed to do that and it's sissy to think otherwise.

A lot of the new science coming out these days about cumulative brain trauma and football is pretty scary, and it's not just pros, it's kids as young as high school age. Put it this way, if you saw a 6 year old KO another with an uppercut to the jaw in an organized boxing match, you'd be appalled. Not sure why this is much different.

You can think what you want. There were kids that were playing with pads younger than when my son started. Similar to when kids start playing T-Ball at age 4.

6-yr olds should not be playing tackle football in full pads, and that kid should be moved up to play with a more appropriate talent level.

I didn't think I'd ever need to tell you this, but I would be a bad parent if I didn't. Soccer was invented by European ladies to keep them busy while their husbands did the cooking.

So, I see you did not answer the question. Did your son play tackle football at 6?

If not, when did you allow him to start playing tackle?

Comparing T-ball to tackle football is just stupid.

Fine, then you made a parental decision to allow it at 6.

    Your choice.

My youngest son will not play tackle until he is 8.

I believe 6 is far too young....

I saw this video a few days ago and when I saw the thread title, I immediately knew it would be the same video.

I also immediately knew that half the posts in this thread would be from DD.

Some things are more predictable than the Texans losing to the Colts.

Whats wrong with FFPS? I started football(soccer) at 6 at FFPS and I have some GREAT memories of it. And I know play football at a very very high level so I doubt that FFPS was bad for me.
When playing as a child, the only memories you want to keep are the good ones and have some fun. And the goal is to make the child have fun and learn to love the game. I doubt the children who get jacked up actually appreciate what they are doing...

    Lol at the kid crying.

Nothing like a good hit to build up toughness.

On the 2nd hit it looked like he flew in the air before getting hit.
