Martin can't really hang with most SF's in the league. I doubt they'll start him at the 3. I'm going with Budinger.

Why are we even playing veterans anymore?

    Lowry/Dragic
    Martin/Lee
    T-Will/Budinger
    Patterson/Hill
    Thabeet/Hayes

Tanking is just a by-product; the goal is developing the young players

    Lowry
    Lee
    TWill
    Patterson
    Thabeet

How does the lineup of the future sound?

    Finally some defense!

I don't believe in tanking, but even if we did, it's not a time to inverse the roster's minutes.

You have to work on chemistry and rotations and things like that.

Also, I love watching Chuck play. He should be on the floor all the time.

How about Ish... Or 2Pat until recently, or Jordan, or until recently Courtney...

I'm not an Adelman hater, and I do think he's trying his best here, but some of his rotation decisions this year have been head scratchers.

I thought the same thing. And now reports are that Ish Smith was included in the trade as well which means the Rockets shipped out $7.8M to Memphis and supposedly only got back $4.8M in salary based on what is being reported. Under the salary cap rules Memphis would need to trade at least another $1M in salary to make the trade work.

There are only so many minutes to go around.

Lee is averaging 18.6mpg in reserve role behind Kevin Martin.

Ish was behind AB and Lowry.

2Pat is a rookie and was learning from the bench/Dleague and is starting to come around and make the most out of his minutes.

Jordan Hill was starting when Chuck went down and got his fair share of minutes, but is now getting pushed behind 2Pat in the rotation. Plus his bball IQ is fairly poor.

As for TWill, he is basically a rookie as well and his time will come.

I highly doubt that lee will be starting and defending the SF position.

I'm confused. What is Ishmael Smith's status? Feigen's latest doesn't even mention him.

And who is Demarre Carroll (sp?)

Interesting, one of the lines of this song fits this trade day

Battier for Thabeet straight up doesn't work.

    Lowry/ Dragic
    Martin/ Lee
    Budinger/ Williams
    Scola/ Patterson/ Hill/ Jeffries
    Hayes/ Miller/ Thabeet/ Yao

I'm guessing they might waive Jeffries.

I like the trade. I don't see Thabeet being a total bust. We needed size, length and defense. I like the picks we got was fair. And Dragic can actually run an offense and is a better team player than Brooks. His addition adds it's pros and cons a big difference in disparity on the pros. He's a much better pick n roll player and has learned from Nash. I think Thabeet will be just fine as he'll get a lot of weak side blocks do to Hayes or even Hill playing man-to-man.

I hope Adelman let TWill and Thabeet play now. I am happy that we didn't trade Patterson, Lee, Lowry, or Martin.

Battier is going to be a free agent after this season is over, so he wasn't going to be back anyway.

Brooks is going to be a restricted free agent after this season, and I hated to see him go. He is an explosive scorer with great range. He did struggle this year, maybe the ankle injury has a lot to do with his struggles. He relies on his quickness and speed, so it could very well be his ankle that slows him down this year.

we got back a raw center who is 7' 3" in Thabeet, another PF in D Carroll, and 2 first round pks which maybe flipped for future trades.

Looking forward to the rest of the season. I hope we find some gems in this years draft.
