I thought the same for awhile, but for his size he can do some athletic moves. He has gotten progressively better with the mic, but he will never have Christian Cage type skills there. Last time I saw, which was this past Sunday, Booker was in pretty decent shape. So if that is what he was suspended for, I would have asked for a release too.
Booker T did steroids, tested positive, and got suspended. He got pissed he couldn't juice and left for TNA.
I will mark out like a little kid if that happened. Rumor is that Hall & Nash are pushing for TNA to sign Syxx/X-Pac/Sean Waltman or whatever the hell you know him as. Even if they could just get hogan on there for a few episodes, that would be something and it would get them probaly the best ratings they ever had.
Well, TNA has a much tougher drug testing policy, so if thats true, the honeymoon may not last long. They fired Test after two appearances for failing a roid test.
It's funny that TNA started to compete with WWE once they started signing all of WWE's talent. It's also interesting that the main reason that the WWE stars started signing with TNA, a lighter work load and less traveling, will slowly be going away once TNA starts getting more popular, does more house shows, and goes on the road more. The X-Divison is the real reason to watch TNA
Since Booker T in is TNA, I might have to give TNA another chance. First, the six sided ring is a joke. I never liked it and wish they get rid of it. Second, they only seem to give pushes to former WWE guys when they have their very own talented wrestlers who actually deserve the push and give TNA their own name instead of living off Vince rejects. If we're talking sports entertainment, WWE wins hands down. TNA can put on better matches but if I wanted to watch wrestling for just the wrestling aspect, I rather watch ROH (Ring of Honor) than TNA. WWE does a much better job at entertaining. With that said, no this will not be a new Monday Night Wars. Not just because TNA in on Tuesdays, and if it were on Mondays, they would get slaughtered. TNA been on TV for a good amount of time and they barley put up ratings comparable to ECW. What makes you think they can hang with Raw? Vince basically runs mainstream wrestling scene. If TNA wants to beat WWE, they have to go in a totally new direction. Kind of like what Vince did to WCW with the Attitude Era. Signing up all the Former WWE talent is not enough. I don't get TNA though. They always go out their way to say their not like the WWE and are completely different but then go ahead and copy WWE by using the whole cryptic message type gimmick to bring in Booker T.
Angor, all good points. Theyre years away from competing in a head to head. But people said the same thing about WCW when they first launched NITRO. Im simply saying that right now, they are putting on a better show IMO, and only IMO.
His debut was this past Sunday ot their PPV. You can see him on this weeks show. Thursday at 8pm on Spike TV.
BTW nobody cared about Sting, the Steiners, Hall and Nash or Macho Man when WCW was dying, why would anybody care now when they are five years suckier? Wake me up when TNA signs Chris Jericho and The Rock, then it might get interesting again.
What I miss the most in the WWE, is the stables. Its was the suspense every week who would join it, turn on you, and the rivals that they had. The nWo, DX, the Coporation, The Ministry, the Brood, Evolution, 4 Horseman, etc... I don't watch it as much as I did before, but keep up with it. TNA is something I'll watch once in awhile, because Hall/Nash are on there and they are 2 all time favorite wrestlers. Although their wrestling skills have diminish, their presence in the ring is good enough for me.
Man.. I would fight anyone that said wrestling was fake back then. I made a lot of enemies haha.. boy I was a dumb kid. I thought it was real because my favorite wrestler back then, Tatanka, got "injured" one night and he was bleeding and an ambulance had to come and take him. That was my main argument for it being real. God, so many acronyms nowadays! WWE, WWF, WCW, TNA, TNT, BBC, CNN, BBQ, which one is the real deal?
Raven's Flock was well done, as well. I remember they used to always "Buy" tickets in the front row and just wait until it was time to interfere in the match. Some nights they would just sit there the entire episode. It was a neat idea. Raven was gold back then...
I like the way this sounds. I loved WCW. WWF was crap then, and WWE is crappier now. WWE's only saving factor was Hitman and Stone Cold. It's crap now. WCW... the NWO, Sting, Goldberg, the Steiners, the Wolf Pack...all badass. I might turn to TNA just to see if it will pick up where WCW left off.
That's how WCW was kicking WWE's ass for 90+ weeks. They had a big influence. Now if Hogan and Goldberg came back and reproduced this.... <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/93d6Jg43Dus&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/93d6Jg43Dus&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> That would be f'n awesome!!!!
I may have been the only one, but I was never a Goldberg fan. He couldnt talk on a mic to save his ass and I hated how he never really had to pay his dues. I was shocked when Hogan did the job clean to him. Anyways, Goldberg refused to come to TNA unless he was the highest paid wrestler and got creative control so they told him to take a hike.
you know who sucks on the mic? freakin' Batista. i cringe every time he talks. he just got to the top b/c of his physique. no mic skills or wrestling skills.
