The new CBA IS going to change the way teams operate

    Sure - unless a team goes into a rebuilding plan as Miami and NY did a few years ago, or Orlando back when they got McGrady, etc. The problem is that, right now, if Utah does that, they are likely to end up with nothing because top free agents still won't go there. Because of the S&T, all the top free agents can pretty much end up at a much more appealing destination without giving up any money.

    I would do two things:

    1. No maximum $$ amount for contracts (keep a max years limit)
    2. Eliminate S&Ts by saying no player can be traded within 6 months of signing a deal.

    I think these two alone would change the NBA landscape. If you want Lebron, you'd have to pay more than you do for Deron Williams or Amare Stoudemire. As it is, all those players get the same dollars despite the fact that they are very different quality of players, so if you're the team paying for Lebron at a steep discount, you get a distinct advantage.
