Jeffries looked like a man possessed and the scene of the knicks coaching staff desperately trying to hold him back looked bad, really bad. I think Melo will get the book thrown at him because he's the most recognisable figure in all of this fracas.
That's because there was a fight in the NBA. The world is dooooooomed! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!
holy crap, that was really bad. it was kinda funny at first seeing little Nate going Mike Tyson on the nuggets, but was not right. it was terrible. I think Nate should and that other dude who committed the hard foul should be suspended for a long period of time (I dont see anything less than 15 games). btw, I really wanted Nate to get his a$$ kicked by somebody, but the guy is freakin strong. did u see him drop the big guy (I dont know who that is) and get on top of him?
That was pretty crazy. Melo and JR Smith both threw punches so they are gonna miss a good amount of games. Sucks for Denver.
george karl has had his character questioned a couple times in his career, he's not a saint. edit: your reaching with the "making your boss happy" scenario
Question for the more knowledgable types here: What are the chances that Isiah Thomas gets punished for this? Is there any precedent for coaches to be fined/suspended for the actions of their players on the floor?
I just don't see Jeffries getting suspended. I could be wrong. Stern could send a message. That said, Jeffries looked SCARY there. I would have ran too. The ESPNNews anchors are driving me insane. If Melo's punch was a "haymaker" or "incredibly violent", then Foxy Boxing is the next Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Watching the replay a few times....little Nate's the one that should get the majority of blame. It would have ended in a few techs for Collins and JR (neither of which wanted to escalate) but the midget was looking to start a fight.
I turned ESPNNews off after the first 5 minutes of them focusing on Melo and Karl and glossing over the Knicks really. Is there a automatic number of games a player gets suspended for if he throws a punch?
holy crap, Melo punched the **** out of the guy. but he ran away like a p***y. did y'all see Jeffries grabbing najera's shorts? it looked so gay. Najera was like I didn't do anything man.
Melo was stupid for throwing that 'after the fact' punch at Collins. That was idiotic and he will pay dearly for it in terms of how many games he will be suspended. Nate was the biggest culprit early on (Napoleon complex?), but then Melo made a BIG mistake.
George Karl was trying to rub it in: Entire starting lineup except Nene(minutes being monitered) in the game, up 19 with less than 2 minutes to go and the Knicks had emptied their bench.
just atleast 1 game. http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_12.html?nav=ArticleList Any player who throws a punch, whether it connects or not, has committed an unsportsmanlike act. He will be ejected immediately and suspended for a mini-mum of one game.
LOL. Reggie Evans would've grabbed him in sensetive areas like he did last year to somebody. Evans is a professional balls-sqeezer
JR Smith doing a showboat dunk a couple of plays before probably prompted this whole thing... Yet another reason the NBA is becoming unwatchable...at least in the NFL the players are paid to hit each other. In the NBA, they call handcheck fouls every 4 seconds but they can't control the fights...
