No homerism. Especially if, prior to the melee, all the Knicks can see Isiah jawing with Melo about being out there during a blowout.
nate robinson's a 5'7" badass. I don't care if it was thuggish, dude is 5'7" and not backing down. most nba players do that weak crap like melo did, hit someone and then run back.
The Knicks should do this at all of their home games. It would definitely put more fans in the seats, and you can bet that no one would want to come to the Garden to play.
Nate Robinson, Mardy Collins, JR Smith, Carmelo Anthony...guess which one gets the brunt of negative coverage from this incident. ESPN already on the overdramatization of it. According to the ditzy chick on ESPN news, NBA stars never throw punches. I guess she needs to use the ESPN archive footage more often
They are interviewing Nate Robinson on MSG and he's basically defending what he did and saying that he is proud of what he did. He also said that the Nuggets keeping their best players in the game was a slap in the face of the players and the Knicks franchise. He also stated that the Marty Collins foul on JR was 'not a foul' . Talk about a detached sense of reality. Nuggets4, I have no idea why they are blaming Karl for this at all. Though Melo should take some blame for being involved, he certainly did not instigate the incident.
Nate Robinson suffers from the shorty syndrome. Yes Nate, we get you. You are short. The more you try to prove you are not, the more I tend to get reminded of it. Talk about a complexion.
Exactly that was a punk move by Melo. I wish they hadn't held Jeffries back, he would have torn him up.
Not in the least. I am not condoning what Melo did by any means. I am just pointing out that he was not responsible for starting the whole mess, s'll.
I think the reason Melo is getting such bad press is that he was seperated from the main meley, and then came back, got in the guys face, backed away, as if to let it go and throws a sucker punch. Then runs like the little girl he is back towards his bench. Robinson was in it from the beginning, and was never really out of the fray, Melo was and came back acted like he was leaving again and sucker punches someone. All around its a bad deal, but Melo had a chance to disengage from the problem and decided to come back in.
However, remember George Karl had beek with Thomas due to the Larry Brown situation. I think they were trying to show up the Knicks at the Garden. Karl trying to get an attitude afterward is just for show.
10 players ejected, two throw punches -- ESPNNews anchor is SHOCKED and OFFENDED. Tank Johnson has Feds surrounded his house, is arrested, then is a few feet away when his bodyguard is shot at a BAR two days later. ESPNNews anchor moves on to that night's hockey scores.
I totally agree with this. Melo was wrong. JR was wrong. I just don't know why Isiah, Robinson and Collins aren't getting more attention. Knick fans have been saying that Collins pulled the same thing last game (hard foul late in game). I just don't get it. Disappointed in Melo right now, but more confused about how HE is the reason for the fight according to some.
. ESPN has to pay their w**** bill to the NFL. They always minimize NFL incidents and dramatize NBA incidents
