A perfect example. No one was really hurt, and two players were kicked out for the remainder of the game. And that was it. A big deal for the Rockets, because we lost Dream for the rest of the game, but nothing else came of it. Stern wants a league with a bunch of robots playing for shoe companies, and the NBA's owners bank accounts.
My music decidation for Camelo Anthony: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rtkAJENc3zI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rtkAJENc3zI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Forget what happened during the 70s, 80s and Dream's era. Times have changed, especially the players who are MUCH less mature. Punishments that worked back then don't work now. We live in the 2000s.
David Stern has taken a ragtag league to perhaps the most popular league in the world. The NBA players are making insane amounts of money under Stern and he definitely should get alot of credit for it. Some of his ideas (new basketball, strict player dress codes) are off the wall, but overall he has done an excellent job. I hope the Nugz get the strictest penalties possible. I hate that punk ass b**** Carmelo and the longer he is suspended the better it is for the Rockets.
I'm not responding for him. I'm calling out BS on your post and responding for the board, who like having professional journalists post here.
but you just said he doesn't have to be professional on here because he's not getting paid, make up your mind.
He is a professional journalist who is informally posting on a bulletin board. No contradiction there. Have a nice day. DR
all he's doing is reporting what another report said. which I have no problem with, I'm just saying there's no reason to accept that for fact. the accusation comes from a member of the nuggets. its just a he said/she said situation. that's the point I'm making. he has no more inside info on this subject than your or I.
ESPNNEWS just had a hilarious polling stat. Apparently, 47 out of the 50 states...the red states...believe that Carmelo Anthony should be suspended for more than 10 games. The rest...the yellow states...believe he should be suspended less than 10 games. LOL
Why don't we all just wait for the information to come forward. If Isiah didn't give the instructions, then his post game comments were right. A flagrant foul is a flagrant foul and there shouldn't be nothing more. But If Isiah did intruct Mardy to do so, then that adds INTENT to a FLAGRANT, which is much worse. Most flagrant fouls are unintentional...they're about the result of the play more than the defender trying to do harm. Remember when Coach Chaney of Temple instructed one of his players to mess up that St. Joseph's player? That was a terrible lapse in judgment that resulted in an apology and punishment. The NBA is different from when Isiah played. The ideas of sportsmanship are different. Trying to hurt people was accepted back then, according to the classic games and shows I've seen. So let's just wait for all the info to come out, but it is possible that Isiah messed up big time, or he could have done nothing and his players were just overly too embarassed not to suck it up and play D, but fight instead.
I can't fault Carmelo too much for the punch (though I do fault him for running away afterward), because that flagrant looked like it warranted getting punched for. But, it looks like everyone gets what they deserved. It was bad sportsmanship for the Nuggets to keep the starters in. It was bad sportsmanship to resort to dirty play in response. And, it all escalated from there. Everyone gets suspensions and they lose more games. Denver definitely finishes the season behind the Rockets, Isiah gets fired at the end of the season, and everyone in Houston is happy.
Oh no...an NBA player in a music video, one with gangsters and stuff. Gee golly. I don't care what its about. Its a freaking rap music video, people make such a big deal about it. T-mac was in one too.
its not a music video, it was just some underground video with these drug dealers saying what they would do to snitches. but its really just a bunch of guys hanging out in the neighborhood, just a stupid video tape. carmelo wasn't on there talking about informants, but he was hanging with the guys on the video.
Oh well, some of these guys don't come from the best neighborhoods. They may have hung around some questionable people. As long as they didn't do anything, I don't care. Plus look at all the good he has done, even if he runs like a little girl.
