you're talking about a different fight. it's Tim Tomas that flipped Bradley. what I was replying to is Bradley being punched by Williams after he elbowed Williams in the head. Anyway, bottom line is I've been following Yao since he joined Shanghai Sharks, when it comes to fighting, Yao's problably not much better than Bradley.
when you leave your starters in for blowouts that's what you expect. and for those blaming isiah, essentially the same crap started the detroit/indiana brawl. a flagrant foul when starters were left in the game after a blowout. but no one blamed those coaches. isiah was out there trying to stop the fight.
I would love to see the reaction if Isiah left marbury in the game with a 20 point lead with 1:30 left and someone flagrantly foulded marbury as he was running up the score and a brawl broke out
Yeah, I was trying to be nice. But he probably will be disowned by the 'streetz' for that gurlie punch AND the fact that he ran away afterwards instead of taking his beating at the hands of Jefferies.
"Clearly this isn't how we or the NBA wants to be perceived," Thomas said. "It should have been a foul and the guy takes two free throws and maybe some words, but it shouldn't have escalated. This isn't even a rivalry." these are also isiah's comments afterwards, hardly sounds like he wanted a fight to happen.
I don't see the Knicks having a 20 pt lead with 1:30 left, not even against the Bobcats. His team sucks.
He probably didn't want a brawl, but he wanted a hard foul to send a message and he forsaw that some "words" woudl happen. He saw that happening, and he should have realized that kind of situation may very well escalate. The DET/IND brawl started with a hard/flagrant foul in a blowout game, too. Whether Isiah wants it to happen or not, his actions made it more likely to happen.
how do you know he wanted a hard foul. its funny, people normally hold players accountable for their actions, maybe the nuggets shouldn't have started the fight.
you know, I knew that would be the predictable response. so I'll respond with this, since his team has been blown out so much, why is this the game he would want to start a fight. the accusations are silly.
I am just saying, I don't see it happening. I'll give them a chance to blowout a team this season. There are still over 60 games left in the season.
He warned Anthony to stay out of the paint. What do you think he wanted his player to do in case Anthony enteres the paint?
Oops, I meant Smith. But do you really think that Isiah meant to say "Carmelo needs to stay out of the paint, but JR Smith is allowed to go in"?
This is a back-to-back flagrant foul for Mardy Collins. This seems to have been boiling over since the Pacer's Game on Friday night also. It happened with about a minute or two left in the 4th quarter also. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playbyplay?gameId=261215011 Knicks at Pacers December 15, 2006 16 pt blowout 1:44 Mardy Collins flagrant foul type 1 (Maceo Baston draws the foul) 92-108 http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playbyplay?gameId=261216018 Nuggets at Knicks December 16, 2006 19 pt blowout 1:15 119-100 Mardy Collins flagrant foul type 2 (J.R. Smith draws the foul) That's 3 flagrant foul points in back-to-back games. Is he trying to max out his total?
look, I don't know if Isiah really said that, he said he told anthony that he shouldn't have been in the game. Isiah, said that he had surrendered the game. so regardless, my only point is that everyone is blaming isiah, and no blame for karl who we know left his players in a blowout to do highlight reel dunks. enough you want to blame the coach, there's enough to go around for both.
I think Nate Robinson was the one who really started the fight. And yes, Carmelo looked like a little girl out there.
I bet Stevie is thinking "I better come back now--everyone's out--I can take this team over and dribble out every shot clock and score!"
I am sure George Karl is to blame, too, and he'll get what's coming to him eventually. Winning washes away a lot of negative attention, but wait til the team starts to struggle and people will point back to this day and start blaming him for both this and his losing.
[ \following Yao since he joined Shanghai Sharks, when it comes to fighting, Yao's problably not much better than Bradley.[/QUOTE] a smart person wouldnt wanna start a fight with Yao cause they know if anything happens to Yao they'll have over a billion people (including this one) wanting their blood.
