the problem that liberals like you dont understand is american conservatives dont see those thousands of dead people as innocent civilians. they are half civilians because they are moslems who without isis killing them would elect govts like iran which are moslem and not secular. the arab spring showed democracy to islamic lands = shariah law and other islamic crap. we hate that. so we want moselsm kept under check and assad does that just fine. yeah he's bad but moslem democracy is worse. if moselms could form a secular democracy like israel we wouldn't have a problem with them.

american conservatives also dont buy the argument that we created islamic terror. yeah we funded and trained and armed them in the 80s. but the decision to pull the trigger on their own population after the soviets left was not our call. this is like hiring someone to be a security guard even though they have a horrible criminal record. if he goes on to rob our pawn shop do we blame ourselves or the guard himself? responsibility lies on the sinner himself not satan who poisons the sinner's thoughts. the whisperor only speaks, but the sinner acts.

plenty of ex cons get hired but dont break the law. plenty of poor, stupid, oppressed, religious people in the world. not all kill, behead, convert by force, etc. america meddled in the business of a lot of countries like chille, argentina, cuba, panama. we messed them up pretty good like iraq. but when we broke those other countries societies did they turn to terror? nope.

Typical neo con mentality, as if there are only two viable parties to support in Syria: Assad's regime and one other homogenous group of radical militant people. The truth of course is that ISIS were made stronger by Assad's violence and they were not anywhere near the threat they are now.

More importantly, the Syrian opposition consists of several groups and not one homogenous group. A lot of them are radical militant islamists, but a lot of them are not. There are factions in there who are fighting Assad because he's a murderer not because he's of a certain religious sect.

Nor was the option in Egypt ever the Military vs Conservative Islamic politics.

Neo cons are so used to their own brand of democracy that they even expect other countries to have only two terrible options for leadership. That's not how it works. To say Saddam and Assad were better at holding down the radicals is to ignore the fact that millions of other humans who were confined to the country also had to suffer in order to achieve that. In both Saddam and Assad's case, we're talking about the type of people who gas their own citizens. Imagine the president of your country gassing its own citizens. ATW can tell you all about the last time that happened in the "western world".

Just horrifying the way the news propagates this as well. All in all it's a serious serious attack on information to Americans that is causing this mindless non sense. Americans are getting their tax dollars shovelled into war-related companies which turn around and spent a chunk of that money on financing the next politician who'll keep the cycle going.

Obviously I'm critical of US foreign policy but that money comes from somewhere. I'm amazed Americans are buying this thing at their own detriment. You could and should have better healthcare, education, and infrastructure without increasing risk. Not being at war all the time is BOUND to reduce the threat to you, that much is logical. If you're in someone else's country and you stay, you are causing danger. If you're leaving you are reducing the danger because those radicals will turn to the next political obstacle that is achievable. They will continue regional mayhem.

It's been the case historically. And it's good for Americans. My fear is the news is constantly bombarding Americans with fear, and that makes them more willing to hand over the dough. Messed up.

im a proud neocon. we're in other countries because it advances our economic empire. we're also in other countries to keep the crazies in check. also america has the best education, healthcare, and infrastructure on earth - for those willing to pay. our system rewards you if your smart and rich. you get the best docs, go to good schools like a&m, drive cadillacs and fly business class. people know so everyone tries to work hard to get to the top. its a great system.

also, none of the other groups which oppose isis and assad believe in things like jews being good people, israel having right to exist, freedom of religion, speech, 2nd amendment, etc. if they came to power, you'll see women being lesser than men, wearing burkas, men with beards, so yeah theyre not as crazy and blood thirsty as isis, but their still bad. they would bring shariah/islam to power like moslem brotherhood.
