Head has badly outplayed Alston this year. If you're going to start someone other than Wesley, Head is the easy, easy choice. Incidentally, I'd trade Swift...but Jackson is redundant with Mutombo. And I don't think he's as valuable as Swift, anyway. I think that, if we could get a 14-18 ppg scorer - who's more of a shooter than slasher - we'd bet set. Too bad the Nets don't have anybody like that .
Kristic, mcinnis and 1st round pick for stro. I don't think NJ would do that but i do like for us to grab Rashard Lewis. If we get Lewis than there will be nothing stoping us. This is my list of players than can help us and we have a chance to acquire them. Rashard Lewis ( if seattle gets dumb somehow maybe we can get him) Damon Stoudamire ( What if we had sign him rather than swift) Gadzuric (Good PF, can rebound and finish around the hoop)
The same thing was being said when the Rockets signed Swift in the offseason. The Rockets need a PG who can dish the ball and has decent shooting range. IMO Swift needs more time learning the system before you look to trade him.
Shard is more valuable than Swift. Swift is replaceable. Frickin' Kelvin Cato can put up Swift numbers, and play well next to Yao. If you can get Shard you do it. But...of course, you can't get him.
I'm starting to wonder about that though. The Sonics are God awful. I think it's pretty clear to anyone with a hint of NBA knowledge that Ray allen/Rashard Lewis combo has about 0% chance of winning a title. Maybe the Sonics would look to dump Lewis' salary (does he come off the books in 2 years? Can't remember) for expirings and 1st rounders so they can rebuild.
New Jersey has already received enough charity from the Rockets in the form of Eddie Griffin. Let them eat cake.
Gadzuric last year > Swift this year. But this year Magloire, Joe Smith, and Bogut have clogged up the forward and center spots, so Gadzuric doesn't play as much. He's a Chris Andersen type. I'd love to have him.
No way, no deal, last night Swift had moments where he looks Amare-esque he's going to figure it out and be our starting four of the future. The Nets should have signed Abdur-Rahim when they had the chance.
If Swift gets that left hand working, he could become devastating in the post. I can't believe he's trying to use it in games already when he hasn't been practicing it that long. The biggest negative I see in his game last night was Fortson and Evans making him look like an eighth grader on the glass. Those guys almost won the game for Seattle with their rebounding.
The next time Cato dribbles past his defender on the perimeter to deliver a dunk will be his first time. The difference between Swift and Cato is something you can't get from a stat sheet. It includes but is not limited to $3.8M cheaper and the ability to help double (trap) a PG and still find who your guarding after the double.
