i've heard the rumor of Head for Sean Williams since Nov. another I heard is Head to Minnesota for cash/draft picks.

I wouldn't mind the Williams trade, adds another big, can't have enough of them

Luther for a 1st/2nd rounder or some wage exception would be great for next couple years plan. We don't need any other player at this moment.

Luther for Sean Williams makes some sense. Both are sitting on the bench. Williams is a big who has potential and hails from Houston. If Nets are involved, this might be the deal.

Look at the web page of the Nets Insider. It's still titled "...Nets Message Boards, Jason Kidd, Vince Carter." But Jason Kidd doesn't play for Nets any more ;)
It's time for them to do an update.

The moment they signed Barry and traded for Artest, they shouldve traded head and francis. You can't load up on alike players at the same position. Hopefully its williams then we could move on.

The problem is no one wanted Francis or Head. It was very apparent when we had to give back Memphis' 2nd round pick back and agreed to pay the rest of Francis' contract. And the fact that Head is still with us even though it is common knowledge that Rockets shopped him around during the summer and continues to the present day.

Some players actually do have negative value on the market.

Now that we're approaching the end of the road with Luther i'm starting to actually feel bad for him or at least the way he's been treated by the fans. I'm no exception, trust me. I've been very hard on him in the past -- a lot of times, for good reason. All i'm saying is at the end of the day he's a good guy, says all the right things and had his moments as a Rocket where he proved his value.

It's beyond apparent he's nothing more than an undersized two with no ability to play the point, score consistently or defend PG's. Still, not a bad value considering where we took him in the draft and how he panned out. Compound this with his expiring deal and I find it hard to believe he has "negative value" or anything of the sort.

I agree that he's been a stand-up guy throughout all this, but it's not like we're short-changing him. We picked him up in the middle 20's of the first round, and he was a surprise pick even at that range when we did it. People picked that low don't have a great chance of sticking in the NBA, but he actually managed to parlay it into what, four years so far as a borderline rotation player? I think he has no reason to be upset with the way things have gone, just keep trying his best even though it might not be good enough to do much better in the best league in the world.

For this Rockets team, he is where he belongs right now--behind Rafer, Wafer and Brooks on the depth chart at the combo guard spot. Any animosity us fans had towards him was only when he was not where he belonged; that is, logging heavy minutes as the back-up SG in the regular season only to choke it away and force T-Mac to play 40+ minutes in the playoffs. When his tenure as a Rocket ends, we will wish him nothing but the best of luck, both sticking around in the NBA and in his future endeavors wherever those are. (See how nice we treat Mike James, Kirk Snyder, Bobby Jackson, and Bonzi now that they aren't Rockets? We'll be nice to Luther too. Plus, like those guys, he's always got China. :D )

this sums up on head nicely.

the thing is, he's drafted in the 20's in the first round and some guys drafted below him have panned out nicely. not his fault. i still feel he could do quite well in certain teams. catch-and-shoot guys are always needed. it's just our team, the way it's currently structured, doesn't have much need from him any more.

i say head will survive in this league after this year and won't have to go to china like mike harris, smush parker or bonzi wells.

The problem with Luther Head is he's not like Wafer who could still do things like attack the basket, handle the ball or play good defense when his shot isn't falling; Luther head is a shooter who can't do anything else, and when his shot isn't falling he plays like garbage. Playing like garbage earns boos and catcalls from the fans, and nothing destroys confidence faster than that lol. Since you need confidence to make shot after shot it's kinda' hard to break the cycle he's in right now. I just hope he can turn it around either here or elsewhere; the NBA needs good players like him.

u guys are missing the point. Nets only wanted Head as their 3rd PG, so all your arugument about head is not a pg or he sucks has no grounds.

Head is more than capable as a 3rd string. The problem with this trade is Morey isn't willing to do it. what do we want from Nets that fits our needs and Nets willing to give? Cash? Picks? Nets is in rebuilding mode so they are not willing to give picks. We don't want to take on large contracts and have no room left to sign anyone.

Ideally, Morey would like to get picks and cash for head, or package him with another player.

Tmac for Vince? not sure that would help at all. in terms of health issue.
Nets is not letting harris, Yi, or Lopez go. rest of them don't really fit in with the rockets.

i don't recall him ever being booed or anything like that. he is a good guy and hopefully he (and all other rockets not named artest) is smart enough not to read message boards. :)
