If there was an agreement with DirecTV and AT&T, not only would ratings increase overall, but I think tickets sales and buzz would rise as a result. People are really angry with the Rockets/Astros/CSN because of this stalemate. I think the residual effects of an agreement with the providers would extend past the simple increase in number of viewers.

Also, as this team continues to grow and improve, that would help as well. Yes the Rockets are in position to make the playoffs, but they're far from a proven group, and far from contending for an NBA Finals. I think if Lin can develop into a star (huge question mark for now), or if they can add another big piece via FA or trade, the result may be a dangerous contending team and ticket sales/buzz will increase tremendously.

People aren't sold on this team yet, some of this is due to resentment from the TV stuff, some of it is the team itself. I think it'll work out in the long run and Houston will start supporting the Rockets in a big way at some point in the not too distant future.

Funny they say the team is struggling when new individual season ticket sales for next year have gone up 20% more from this year. That's the Rockets reason for taking away perks and raising prices on current ST holders

Im calling BS on this article- just because there are a lot of houses that get a game doesn't mean that they're watching it. As a result, accessibility =/= profitability. If the team was struggling, the owner wouldn't be buying picks every year.

Irrelevant in this regard since the Knicks always have a top 5 fan base. I was just using them as a measuring stick to show how much we can fill up an arena. I do get ticket prices and everything. There are a ton of variables into total attendance but I wasn't directly comparing the Knicks and Rockets.

I love my rockets but as an organization we are one of the cheapest and most selfish. I won't hide my disdain for Alexander.

Maybe all they need to do is host the games at Reliant?

Not to mention that's a very simple analysis. If more people can watch the games, more people will be able to talk to their friends about the games, and then those people will actually have access and will be able to start watching. Word-of-mouth buzz is completely castrated with the Comcast snafu. You'll see an increase of three time or more once it's fixed for next season.
