The NBA and steroids

    No doubt about it.

    I can completely understand why an athlete would do it if he cant get to much of a penalty for it.


    Sure its cheating and yes....alot of them end up dead at 45.....but for the greedy ones that dont care about thats stuff....I know why they do it.

    Then how is it that when a player 'loses a step', he's on his way out of the league? When LJ and Dream lost their quickness, they were a shell of their former selves. Look at Payton.

    You have to fill out and have some muscle, I'm not saying that guys have to be like Reggie Miller. But every pound you gain is a pound you have to lug up and down the court, and is a pound that adds to the wear and tear on your joints. That's exactly why Phil Jackson was forever on Shaq about his weight. Shaq took a stance similar to yours - he dominates the post with his strength and size. But Phil knew that those extra pounds were going to lead to all those nagging injuries that have kept Shaq from playing 82 games and have slowed him down considerably.

    Basketball is not a 'true' contact sport, so being light and explosive goes further than being strong and heavy.
