Honestly, what are we suppose to do now?

I pass resolutions, and endorse, and add dossiers. I don't even know what that means.
    Need more action.

    The Kingdom of Honey Browne
    "Beer, its whats for dinner"

    UN Category: Inoffensive Centrist Democracy
    Civil Rights:
    Very Good Economy:
    Strong Political Freedoms:
    Excellent
    Location: Rocketstonville

The Kingdom of Honey Browne is a small, devout nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 9 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The small government devotes most of its attentions to Religion & Spirituality, with areas such as Social Welfare and Commerce receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 11%, but much higher for the wealthy. A large private sector is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Furniture Restoration.

Voting is voluntary, the nation is ravaged by daily union strikes, rams are considered a delicacy, and the government's religious works are headed by a New Age guru. Crime is a problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Honey Browne's national animal is the ram, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the lira.

Honey Browne is ranked 28th in the region and 42,772nd in the world for Fastest-Growing Economies.

Oh yeah, hell yes to Prop 2. Back to brewing beer. Long live King Hakeem!

I think we should have cabinet leaders to take charge of the region to clarify and alleviate some of the tasks that go along with being a leader.

Sec of War ( Personally I would like to obtain this position )

Sec of Trade (basically acquire military supplies or agriculture)

Sec of Foreign Relations ( obvious )

Sec of Intelligence ( maintain knowledge on all enemy regions especially utah and their allies )

Sec of admissions ( accepts applications to the region and dismissals )

Sec of state ( controls infighting and maintains security )

If Stevenlands is a spy (and has another nation out there that is already in the UN), Stevenlands cannot also join the UN... that's part of the UN rules... they have a bunch of ways to keep you from doing that... email checks, ISP checks, etc.

Rickenbacker joined the UN pretty early on, and when Stockton to Malone (I still retch everytime I type those words) tried to join, it was denied.

That makes me think he either just doesn't like the UN, or has another nation already active...

    Toast,

Have you heard back from Stephenlands yet?

It looks like Resolution 2 has passed, however I would like to wait before banning such a large nation before hearing back from the telegram sent out yesterday, asking his intentions as a random nation that entered our burgeoning region.

As for positions, that is an excellent idea.

I am already the "Secretary of Admission" because I have the power to ban and boot nations from our region.

Kimble14 is our Secretary of State, for his excellent work on the spreadsheet and research.

The following positions are still open:

Sec of War - Pradaxpimp has nominated himself

Sec of Trade (basically acquire military supplies or agriculture)

Sec of Foreign Relations ( obvious )

Sec of Intelligence ( maintain knowledge on all enemy regions especially utah and their allies )

In order to earn a position from now on, you must be nominated by someone (including yourself) and receive two "backings" from member nations of our region.

As for our unified front on responding to invitations to join other regions, I feel that Mulder's reply was the best... So please use his reply when responding to invitations:

Thank you kindly for your invitation to join your region. We are humbled by your offer.
With all due respect, we the citizens of [insert country name here] must respectfully decline your invitation. As a member of the sovereign and benevolent region of Rocketstonville, we have entered into a mutual agreement with other countries in our region for the purpose of joint harmony and self preservation.
Please do not take the declination of your offer as a slight on your country.
Please also be advised that the region of Rocketstonville takes its collective security very seriously. The countries of Rocketstonville have agreed that an armed attack against one or more of them in the region shall be considered an attack against them all, and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the party or parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed forces, to restore and maintain the security of Rocketstonville.

Have a pleasant day and may your choice of Higher Power, if any, bless your region and Rocketstonville.

Still haven't heard back from the telegram, though it hasn't been a full 24 hours. I recommend we wait 'til noon (Central Standard Time), and if still no response, he gets the boot with a telegram that says email our Secretary of Admissions if you wish to be considered for membership in Rocketstonville. You know, a thank you for your interest, but we only want active members type thing.

I honestly don't think he's any sort of a spy. Most likely a nationstate admin type who's trying to keep tabs of the new region to make sure it's there to play and not hack.

    Other proposals:

From what I've seen so far, there are lots of regions that require new entrants to endorse the regional delegate to the UN (or be booted). Might be a good idea.

Many regions are allied with other regions (and state this on their factbook entries). We might want to ally ourselves with someone powerful before moving into Utah.

I think we need to have some world explorers... anyone interested in creating second nations to move from region to region? There are some pretty large regions, and smaller but still powerhouse-type regions out there that might be good to study...

    We Will Flatten You (self-explanatory)

    This is an excellent idea!

At our size of 85 nations, we need to start getting Intelligence on other regions of similar size, to see how they operate.

We need to develop a "CIA" of sorts.

Perhaps some nations would like to step up and volunteer? If so, please do so here.

    Thanks!

I disagree about being forced to endorce a regional delagate. If I think our region's UN delegate should change, I wouldn't want to be forced to endorse someone I don't like. We should have the freedom to "agree to disagree."

I like the idea of allying with other nations, though I think we should ally ourselves with people who have similar interests. Maybe if there's an Astros region. Or some anti-mormon region who also hates Utah ;) ... or maybe Orlando. Stevie/T-Mac friendlies are friends of ours.

Don't know if this has been posted or not, but this is from a Nationstates forum stickie:

    What's legal and not legal

The nation of Rashmonium, a peaceful non-belligerent nation, shares the common disdain for all things Jazz, and therefore offers it's full support to the region of Rocketstonville.

I'd like to be the Secretary of Foreign Relations, although Mulder also has my vote.

I did not know this when I joined the UN. I know we already have a UN Delegate so should I and the others remove ourselves?
