The password is for new nations trying to enter our region.

 

so where has discussion of our evil plans been going on w/in the site? on the message boards or in some secret hidden bunker w/in rocketstonville? i guess my question is, where could outsiders have learned of our plans?

 

I would let the Stevensland thing ride until our number are up. Once Rocketstonville can defend itself, then we boot them. On the other hand, Darth Vader has a point. They could become a valuable ally.

The region of France has 59 nations and their UN delegate has a population of 3.044 billion.

Their top economic nation has a population of 3.101 billion.

 

I have a question...

If someone moves to a different region, do our endorsements follow them, or do they become void if they move out of the region?

One of the nations that recently left Utah -- The Nar Nars of Boolari -- went to this region... which leads me to believe there is a protectorate in place to prevent region crashing...

Where do you find information such as this? Is there a map of some sort?

 

Seeing as Stevenlands is still around, I'm guessing it's not too late to vote on the kick-out-Stevenlands proposition. I'll vote NAY, but only until he joins the UN. Without UN membership, there's nothing he can do to us. If/when he does, though, he'll have some explainin' or packin' to do.

I'll vote AYE on the change-the-password-and-only-mention-it-here resolution (or whatever it's called), though.

kpsta: Nice find on the 10000 Islands site. I think cur.ve got a recruitment letter for something similar -- would it make sense for some of us to join a similar group in the future? (Of course, each person can only have 1 UN-enrolled country, so that would weaken us a little bit. Not that anyone can invade us with our region password-protected.... If/when we invade Utah, I think we should remove the password. Leaving it on would be even cheaper than a typical Malone clear-out.)

gunn: No map that I know of, but click "The World" in the menu in the sidebar of NationStates. On the resulting page, you can either type in the *exact* name of the region you want or wade through the 865 pages of regions.

I'll update the spreadsheet later tonight and post that it's updated on the public board. (Just that it's updated, not its URL.)

One more thing: My webspace provider Linux, MySQL, Perl, and PHP. Does anyone know how easy it is to set up vBulletin or something similar? If it doesn't take up too much effort on my part, I'd be willing to toss up a Rocketstonville forum if this thread gets too cluttered.

 

It's easy to set up those vBulletin-type boards with just basic options. I've done it, so it's obviously not complicated.

 

How do I endorse you guys and why haven't I been endorsed

Us going over and endorsing each other is fine by the admins. If we did that right now, though, the active Utahns could ask one of many defense squads that would move hundreds (!) of countries to Utah and support Seuss-whats-his-name as Utah delegate. In return, they would probably counterattack us and put someone from Utah as our delegate. (At least they'd try, but we're password-protected. Karla would be proud.)

Us removing everyone is not fine and would get you and/or us banned. We can remove a handful of "natives" -- probably up to 40% of their population, or 2 people. (If we had to attack right this moment, I'd remove the most active person, whoever that is.) We'd have to let them back in after a day or two, though.

Us changing the password to Utah and not telling them is not fine and would get you and/or us banned. Both of the latter actions are known as "griefing," and are prohibited.

If nationstates is this ruthless, I don't trust a one-time password listed on this BBS as an ultimate defense.

 

Just click on another nation that is an UN member and just after the summary of that nation there is an "United Nations Status" section. It will have list of the nations that have endorsed that nation and below it, there will be a link that says "Endorse this nation" or something like that. Just click on that link.

Right now you have 4 endorsements, Langhi, Gootongoo, EL Guatevor, Blatzville, you can just click on the names and repay the favor.

 

Open calls for 'war' etc. on the public message board should result in an immediate banning.
