    How exactly do we attack?
    In FAQ it says that attacking a nation is sort of role playing through the forum, so how does that work out?

    Alright, it looks like the Rocketstonville Resolution #1 has passed by an overwhelming margin.

    A password will now be instituted.

    For those desiring access, or if you want to refer friends... the password to enter our region is now "hakeemthedream"

    Again, to declare war, we must do it through the forum. I haven't researched the proper technique quite yet.

    Will the NATION that infiltrated Utah please provide us with updates about the status of the nation as often as they can (once a day if possible)... I know this game is time consuming, and if that's not possible, it's ok. Just keep posting updates about activities in the nation.

    Keep up the good work!

    In the past 24 hours, the following activity has occured in Utah:

    2 hours ago: The Jingoistic States of Tragic Reaction arrived from The Pacific.
    11 hours ago: The Nomadic Peoples of Stockton to Malone arrived from The West Pacific.

    We know that the Peoples of Stockton to Malone is kpsta... but do we have a second spy? Or is the States of Tragic Reaction a legit nation?

    Just checking... Don't want too many spies over there... It's a small region. As soon as we build up our populations and we figure out how to declare war in the forum, we should be able to take over.

    Plus, we got one of our own in there already, to declare mutiny!

    The time is coming close...

    A couple of possibly interesting links:

    NationStates political map -- find out just what "Scandinavian Liberal Paradise" means! And 26 others!
    Rocketstonville spreadsheet -- a semi-complete list of who we are in RTV and the above map in table form

    <hat="Langhi">

    As UN delegate, I'll try and act like my nation: high personal freedom, middling-to-low economic freedom, and middling-to-high political freedom. If that rocks your boat, great! If not, rot in... er... I mean, that's great, too! :)

    </hat>

    From what I've researched, if we tried to roleplay a war against Utah anytime soon, it'd be a slaughter for the bad guys. If we just invaded via "region crashing" (moving a bunch of our UN countries to Utah and voting one of them as delegate), we could do that at any time (preferably, a well-coordinated time). Honestly, though, I'd feel bad about doing that while we were impervious to attack.

    Alternately, though, we could role play intraregional civil wars. I don't know who'd be interested in that, however.

    [Edit: Is m_cable the only person who's read Jennifer Government? Is anyone else thinking about it?]

    The Empire of Drexylvania is a tiny, economically powerful nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 5 million are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

    The small, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Religion & Spirituality, and Defence. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 3%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Cheese Exports, and Beef-Based Agriculture industries.

    Crime is a major problem. Drexylvania's national animal is the Cockatiel, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Bongiovi.

    The Republic of Uprising3k is a tiny, pleasant nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 5 million enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

    The large government juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Social Welfare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 24%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is led by the Gambling, Cheese Exports, and Uranium Mining industries.

    Crime is moderate, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Uprising3k's national animal is the kiwi and its currency is the guru.

    That spreadsheet rules! Great work.

    Also, how exactly does the roleplaying work? Do we just make up sh*t or are there rules?

    I read it some time ago. Didn't like it overall. Good concept but the story fell apart about halfway through or so.

    Very loose rules -- be realistic, and don't do the stuff in here: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=274470

    Example: I say "I'm moving 50,000 troops into 123 Utah." Mr. 123 Utah would say something to himself like, "Langhi has 8 million people, so its GNP is roughly $24 billion US. With an average tax rate of 24%, that's a $6 billion budget. Langhi's military is at an all time high, but it's a volunteer army, so let's say that they could have an army of 250,000. Therefore, it's reasonable that they could afford to send 50,000 troops." Mr. 123 would look at his figures (1.8 billion people, 50% tax rate, "all-pervasive police force") and say that my troops do an imitation of a fly attacking a windshield.

    He might send 500,000 troops into Langhi, and I'd say that he managed to capture everything except for some fortifications in Langhi City and some bordering territory on the east coast. I try to beg for peace, and we sign an agreement where he gets 2/3 of my country's resources.

    (Actually, on further review, it looks a lot more detailed than that. It looks like you purchase artillery, tanks, nukes, etc. It'll probably be a while before I personally get into role-played war.)

    AstroRocket: Glad you liked the spreadsheet. mrpaige: Thanks for the book info. AntiSonic: Nice flag -- good to see someone else using the "retro" look.

    This game is kind of liberal. I voted down affirmative action and all the sudden the computer says my people are racist.

    At least I'm the only right wing utopia. :)
