The National Anthem - Favorite Version/Singer

i can tell you my least favorite:

Seriously. I love the crap out of Weezer. See? See? SEE?

 

WOW Whitney Houston has (had) an amazing voice. Her version almost brought tears to my eyes.

 

So this one doesn't really count because it is the Canadian National Anthem, but it is still pretty cool. The fans in Toyota Center should try and pull something like this before the first playoff game... talk about a home court advantage.

The problem is that it's a Canadian team doing it with a visiting American team. I don't think it would work quite as well if it were an American team doing it to another American team.

No no no... NATIONAL anthem. Like the anthem for a country. Not a state song. Those are completely different. Observe:
This is the song for the 28th state:

That is not the NATIONAL anthem. The song for the 51st also is not a national anthem.

 

I've mentioned this here before but Kelly Clarkson was once a waitress for a few years at Hyena's comedy club in Arlington. I've been playing there twice a year for many years and was no stranger to Kelly's talent. Since I play piano on stage her friends asked me if I could get her on stage one night, I did and she sang "My All' by Mariah and killed it.

Anyway she gave me a demo cd of her singing the National Anthem and a few original songs of hers to pass on to my manager, it was probably the best version I'd heard...she was amazing.

My manager wasn't as impressed and he lost the cd.

 

Saw this thread now while looking for CF National Anthem threads.
Wow, what a story AB.
Do you still have the same manager? He must have spent the last 10 years kicking himself as Kelly has been risen to the top.
