The real myth is you acting like you have any damn clue.

If the Rockets traded for Howard and lost him the next offseason....we would not be better off than if we had kept our own picks and players. Case closed, end stupid ****ing thread and thought.

According to Solomon getting Howard would be putting away your Hyundai and getting a Rolls Royce for a year. I guess if Howard leaves you go back to a lower trim Hyundai.
I think the Rolls Royce maybe extreme, I would only use the Rolls Royce metaphor if Howard makes us a championship contender which I doubt he will by himself. If Howard does stay he may attract other stars in the future, but if no star wants to come in Howard's first year Howard will probably leave to be with another star. Orlando may jump on any reasonable deal we offer, since Howard is leaving and they can get players from us to rebuild. While we will improve for one year and then go into rebuild mode the next year instead of rebuilding with this years deep draft we will have to rebuild with middle round picks from next years draft.

Hey nice job missing the point. You mean if Howard left the team wouldn't be as good? I'm shocked.

Maybe the recent reports have something to do with it?

Learn to read. The real point is that it doesn't matter whether we would be a marginally OK team still. No one gives a damn about having a marginally OK team and losing Howard after sacrificing so many picks and players (quite frankly, years of frustrating "asset collection" and mediocrity) could be viewed as nothing but a massive failure.

So I reiterate, in case my assumptions are correct and you probably got lost up there in all that truth.....no one gives a damn whether this team will be "OK" if Howard leaves after one year.

Again, you missed the entire purpose of my OP. You seem to think that I'm saying it's good that we could still be an OK team if Howard leaves. It's actually quite the opposite.

The prevailing thought about getting Howard was that it would be a win-win. If he stays, great. But if he leaves we'd be really bad so we could draft in the top 5 of the lottery in 2013-14. What I'm saying is unfortunately, the team might still not be bad enough do that. Based on your first paragraph, you obviously agree with me and the OP. Too bad you couldn't extract this meaning earlier before your unnecessary posts.

Except we would have lost all of our prospects.

You think Orlando is going to just ask for a couple of picks in the top 10? They may ask for D-Mo as well.

If Howard leaves it's going to set this team back...and Morey and Les will make sure we are RIGHT back on the mediocre treadmill.

I'm not for getting Dwight, I'm for rebuilding. Morey looks like he can get a handful of prospects to rebuild around
