Yes, but do you think the fans are happy that he has meddled so much that the team has gotten weaker?

Significantly weaker.....this year and probably next...though he could flip it by next year....if he gets the right pieces.

To make it even better, the trade will likely land them in the lottery, in which they traded away their pick as a apart of the deal!

    Good one Cuban!

I think their pick is lottery protected.

Regardless of how much I can't stand the guy I do like the attitude he brings to his organization. There's never been a critic or somebody that insults the Mavs in some way without Cuban publicly defending his team or striking back at the writer. So in that sense, if you play for him it's kind of nice to know "somebody has your back".

That having been said, I still hate the guy. He's an annoying attention w**** that hates America and does nothing but complain about officiating.

I don't know - they had the same basic core the last 2 or 3 years until this year. I do agree he got impatient this year with the Lakers/Suns moves, but he's probably done no more meddling with their core as the Rockets did with ours. In the past 12 years or so, we've gone with the following cores:

    Olajuwon/Drexler/Barkley
    Olajuwon/Pippen/Barkley
    Francis/Mobley/Anderson
    Francis/Mobley/Yao
    McGrady/Yao

During the McGrady/Yao years, we went with the oldies route with Barry/Wesley/etc, then the youth route with Swift, then the Battier/smart-people defense route, etc. Until this past year, we were changing out 2 or 3 starters every year.

To be fair, it's not just the Kidd trade that's going to land them in the lottery - it's primarily the Dirk injury. But yeah, it was a bad trade in that it shortened their time horizon for being good.

I agree that the injury to Dirk weakened them even further, but they were not beating anyone of relevance after the trade, with or without Dirk.

That trade instantly made them irrelevant, in my opinion. Devin Harris was a big part of that teams engine, arguably the biggest!

Just my opinion, but Harris always seemed to be the biggest thorn in our side, thankfully Cuban traded him away!

    Future Draft Picks

2008 first round draft pick to New Jersey
Dallas' own 2008 1st round pick to New Jersey (top 14 protected in the 2008 Draft and unprotected in the 2009 Draft). [Dallas - New Jersey, 2/19/2008]

2010 first round draft pick to New Jersey
Dallas' own 1st round pick to New Jersey in the "First Allowable Draft". The “First Allowable Draft” shall be the 2010 Draft if Dallas' own 2008 1st round pick is not among the top 14 picks and is therefore sent to New Jersey. The “First Allowable Draft” shall be the 2011 Draft if Dallas' own 2008 1st round pick is among the top 14 picks and Dallas sends its own 2009 1st round pick to New Jersey. [Dallas - New Jersey, 2/19/2008]

Do you have an alternate source that states otherwise?

When you bring in Juwan Howard on your team, not once, but twice, you cant be considered a good owner/GM.

Juwan continues his tradition as the Curse Lord by keeping the Mavs on the brink of elimination from playoffs. This is one year after Mavs had record number of wins.

If you still have doubts about Juwan, just go back and look at the history of the teams while he has been on them and right after he has left them.

    Facts don't lie.
