What deserves sympathy? The people at the peace rally or you for watching a good bit of it?

Sorry to nitpick on language but shouldn't you have said.

"At the Peace Rally everyone was talking about the US as an Occupying force not a liberating one which in my view is sympathizing with the insurgents."

Anyway I don't doubt that their actually might've been people at the peace rally who did sympathize with the insurgents but I've yet to hear anyone on this thread or to my knowledge on the Clutch BBS say they are sympathizing with the insurgents.

What I was saying is that the US deserves sympathy for being the liberating force for the Iraqi people.

Trouble is, we get no sympathy, because the majority of the world sees us as an occupying, rather than liberating, force.

I thought your point was that people were sympathizing with the Iraqi insurgents?

From who? Remember, the only countries anywhere in the world that a majority of the people supported us going in were the US, UK and Israel. The rest of the world believed it was a bad idea from the start.

So you don't think AQ has sent people to Iraq?

Amen. It seems Dubya et. al. seem to think that way about Sudan...

Regardless, giddyup playing the "save the innocents" card is not germane to the discussion. We invaded due to the WMD threat, remember?
