Howard would be super tradable though. Don't overlook that. Great trade asset because he would be in a true contract year, and would definitely put up to get the money he thinks he's owed. Plus, the Rockets wouldn't wait till the half way point of the season to trade him, my guess is he'd be gone early. My fear is JBB comes back, and still continues to play it safe.
JB is given the head coaching job with a new contract during the summer. Brewer will play another year with the team. No free agent stars want to go to Houston because of Harden's iso's and heavy ball possessions.
Oh there is much much worse. Howard gets a devastating injury and decides to opt in. Harden parties over the summer and does a lot of coke and comes back 20 lbs heavier and injures himself. Parties more and gets busted for grabbing a girls ass at a club and turns out fails a drug test and gets a 1-year suspension. No free agents come to houston. Rockets resign Dmo and he immediate has to have back surgery again after a summer scrimmage game.
Silver linings of the year: Kevin McHale who was never gonna take us anywhere anyways got fired. Then we found out JB Bickerstaff was an empty suit. James Harden dumped the Kardashians, and next year he'll play competent defense again, because his current defensive effort turned him into the national media's pinata.
Morey gets fired and takes his act back to Boston. Celtics win the Championship in year 1. We hire some no named coach who we never heard of and only winning 20 games. Harden sustains a major injury playing in that summer league he always plays in.
Les finally realizes that tanking is the way to overhaul this team. He fires Morey and hires Hinkie to do the job. We become the Houston 76ers for the next 10 years.

Harden puts on 20 pounds this summer and marries a Kardashian no one has ever heard of. Beverley wrecks his Rolls. Survives, but misses first 3 months of the season. Jail, not injury.
