Most overrated artist is easy. Eminem. I actually have all three of his albums, so it's not like I'm a hater. But my God is this one overrated mofo. Another one I can think of is Missy Elliott. Yuck!
Cake - Hell, I can talk to music too. Sublime - I think their talent is lacking in many areas. Offspring - Why are they famous again? Backstreet Boys N'Sync Brittney Christina DMB overrated? Not just no, hell no.
How the hell is DMB overrated?? Do you realize how complex their song arrangements can be? Do you realize they probably have one of the top 5 drummers in the world? Do you know of any other rock band that incorporates both horns and violin into their repitoire? Like their sound or not, DMB is not overrated, and they definitely have one of the most talented lineups in rock music period.
no. sublime kicks ass. most overrated...creed...bush...and i hate to say it, but weezers past two albums really sucked.
considering they all would've been about 6-8 years old "30 years" ago yeah, it kind of is impressive.
Easy there big fella. Aerosmith has been recording great music for decades. You can say that they are overrated when there is a ride at Walt Disney World named after YOU.
I said it, and I meant it. U2's music is overblown tripe, and Bono is the most pompous assed frontman in the history of rock music. The Edge couldn't play his guitar without his massive sound effects setup if his life depended on it. Their act is annoying and tired. Any questions?
Well...for a couple of decades anyway.. I divide Aerosmith into two bands. 1) The awesome 70's hard rock band that recorded such classsics as Dream On, 10" Record, Walk This Way, Toys in the Attic, Back in the Saddle...etc They were aggressive and nasty and they deserved each and every accolade thrown at them back then.. 2) The pop-ish, watered down, MTV loving wuss band they turned into after Permanent Vacation.. even tho they deserve the popularity they have now, the current Aerosmith is just a weak poser in comparison to their original sound. As much as I love this band, they are over-rated now..they were not back then..
Did I say 30 years? What the hell are the "3" and the "2" keys doing right next to each other anyways?
There is no use arguing about what people are posting guys. People have thier opinions and thats all there is to it. Post your list, tell people you disagree with thiers, but don't try and tell them they are wrong, because they can't be. Now my list for you to say I'm wrong about. 1.DMB- Top 5 drummer in the world, horns and violins, complex.... I still can't stand 'em. 2. U2- Sold out to the after Joshua Tree. Lemon???? C'mon guys Lemon?!?!? 3. Blink 182 - How can a band regress so far so quickly? 4. Creed- For the last time, these guys do not sing rock and roll, they sing pop. Get these scrubs off my rock stations. 5. Korn- Used to be one of the pioneers of alt music, now they just primp for MTV like N'Sync and Brittney.
Gawd, I can't believe I missed this...If anything, Cake is one of the most underrated bands in rock today. I hardly ever hear these guys on the radio
Just a few thoughts on the hotly debated issue of DMB being overrated... As MUSICIANS, DMB are not even close to overrated. Their band, including Matthews himself, consists of what is very likely the most talented collection of rock/pop musicians in a band format today. Sure, Sting and Peter Gabriel can HIRE the best guys, but as BANDS go where everyone has a basically equal say, it is hard to top DMB. On the other hand, as SONGWRITERS, DMB is definitely overrated. It is easy to get great musicianship confused with great songs. DMB does not represent the highest calliber of writing. In many ways, it is like saying Rush was overrated. As musicians, they were not. As songwriters, absolutely. You can have tremendous talent as a musician and not as a songwriter and vice vesa. It is fairly rare to have someone who can capture both and still sell enough records to merit an underrated status which is why there are so few that ever reach that status in the first place.
They've regressed?? I thought they always sucked. BTW, can't agree more with your take on Korn. What a joke.
