T-Mac could have been top ten all time.

I voted for Yao Ming because of what might have been if he's just healthy enough. I'd have voted Tracy second only because Yao Ming would have thoroughly dominated if he's healthy. With those two healthy, I can imagine Rockets having at least 3 rings. What a sight it might have been...

    Arenas
    O'Neil
    Francis

are "SUPERSTARS" moreso than Marbury, Brand, Jamison and Stackhouse. I'd debate that for sure.

I agree with Raven above that Tmac could have been in the TOP 15 Greats of Alltime

Francis and Jermaine ok but Arenas I am not sure about. I guess he was a 2nd rounder?! That's already a success. 30th taken in 2001

Definitely T-Mac. This thread made me go watch some of his old highlights. What could've been :(
It's funny how there's three Rockets on this list (and many others that could've been Rockets). Hopefully we won't need to say the same about our current superstars.

Injuries can do that to people. When your body betrays you, that is the sign from God that your time is not your own.

C Webb got hurt. Not his fault.

Did those guys ever lead their team in points, rebounds and assists, in the same year?

Even before his knee went out he was a guy who never fulfilled his potential as a low post monster. As much as people crap on Blake Griffin, if CWebb had had even half of Blake's, "I'm going to dunk on everybody," attitude, no one could have stopped him. Outside of maybe his rookie year when Nellie forced him to play center, Webber was way too content shooting long jumpers.

Brandon Roy. He is not a disappointment, but his legacy was cut short.

I thought about T-Mac, but his career was riddled by injuries, so I guess you can rule him out.

IMO Deron Williams is the most disappointing star.

TMac had no significant injury which is why I put him far above the players on the list.

This. McGrady was almost incomparably awesome for about 3 seasons. When he came to Houston I was just floored watching him play. Every aspect of his game was totally elite.

    What could have been...

Honestly, I never thought of Amar'e Stoudemire, Jermaine O'Neal, Steve Francis or Baron Davis as superstars. Out of the rest of the guys, as tempting as it is to say T-Mac, I think Gilbert Arenas was probably more disappointing. Yeah, he made it past the first round once, but he only led the Wizards to the playoffs a few times before he went totally stupid.

Yao. He became the most dominant player in basketball. Life was great for a long time with him but then that injury would come like clockwork. Being a Rockets fan for some time made it a huge disappointment.

I would actually say Vince Carter because he wasn't completely destroyed by injuries like most of the people on that list.

T-Mac actually did reach insane heights in 2002-05. I feel like Vince never actually got to where he could have.
