Of course, the only issue with this is that it assumes two "sides," and then it makes the unsupportable assumption that those two sides are somehow equivalent.

Would this country be better off if it split into a confederation of two separate unions each with its own laws? One for the conservative and one for the liberal? But still function as one when it come to diplomatic relationships with other countries.

This way one can have as small a government as it want, and no social welfare net at all. They could get rid of social security and medicare. The other could have universal healthcare etc. We can see after 30-50 years which model is better.

Wonder which states will join which unions?
