From Houston Chronicle: Seal of approval Cavaliers center Scot Pollard, who played five seasons for Rick Adelman in Sacramento, offered a strong endorsement of his former coach "I'm a huge fan of Rick Adelman, so I think he's a great choice," Pollard said of the new Rockets coach. He's one of the best coaches in the league. "If they (Rockets players) were to ask me, I would say from what I've heard about Jeff Van Gundy and what I know about Rick Adelman, they're in for a culture shock. It will be a much different organization as far as the way they're going to play basketball and the way things are going to be run. I never played for Jeff, but talking to some guys who played for them, it's going to be a big difference for them. "What Rick does is he puts a lot of control into the hands of his players and his best players to make basketball plays. They will have to be ready for that freedom. "Some organizations have a lot of young players that need structure. They need somebody to tell them what to do all the time. I think they've got enough veterans on that team that will be able to handle that freedom and will be able to play Rick Adelman basketball." JONATHAN FEIGEN
What about Drexler and Webber in at their best? Or did you mean at the same time? I would still rather have Clyde and Chris at the same time in the prime of their careers. Drexler wasn't near as good with us as he was with Portland.
Amen Brother! Oh wait. CD decided to make us the Ex-Knicks according to the JVGFC. If it is all the GM, as so many Van Gundyheads have said, are we going to become the Ex-Celtics instead?

R.J. Adelman, the oldest son of new head coach Rick Adelman, will also join the staff. Elston Turner and T.R. Dunn are the other assistants to Rick Adelman, who was hired on May 23 to replace the fired Jeff Van Gundy. Sikma, a seven-time All-Star center, was an assistant in Seattle for the past four seasons. The 6-foot-11 Sikma played 14 seasons in the NBA, averaging 15.6 points and 9.8 rebounds in 1,107 combined games with Seattle and Milwaukee. R.J. Adelman was a scout for the SuperSonics last season. Turner was an assistant for Adelman for six seasons in Sacramento. He previously worked as an assistant in Portland, where Adelman coached from 1988-94. Turner played eight seasons in the NBA in the 1980s, with Dallas, Denver and Chicago. Dunn has spent the last three seasons as an assistant in Sacramento, the first two under Adelman. Before joining the Kings, Dunn spent two seasons as an assistant in Denver. In 2001-02, Dunn worked as an assistant coach at Alabama, his alma mater. Dunn coached the WNBA's Charlotte Sting in 2000. He was an assistant coach with the Charlotte Hornets from 1991-97 and worked on the Denver Nuggets' staff during the 1997-98 season. Dunn played 14 seasons in the NBA.
Translation: Dear Coach, This is Scott Pollard. Remember me from Sacramento? I am a free agent and I need a job.
Why can't they just morph into the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Houston Rockets! Should Coach A be the Blue Ranger or Zordon?
