Just a reminder that Morey's picks tend to have the following in common:

    1) freakish length - look at not just the guys we've picked in the past, but who we've signed and traded for. Lots of insane wingspans in that group.

    2) quick feet - if there's any question about agility, forgettaboutem.

    3) finishing in the paint - What do Harrell and Dekker have in common? Both finished in the top 3 in paint FG% in their final year in college basketball. Capela is no slouch there either.

    4) experience - this may be a result of where we've picked in the past, but we draft a ton of college juniors and seniors, as well as internationals with a lot of pro expierience.

    Things you can ignore:

    1) shooting - hasn't been a point of emphasis. Canaan is the only plus shooter I can remember us drafting.

    2) point guards - every year someone says we're going to draft some flashy point guard. I won't be sucked in....again.

I'm convinced that Morey only picks "experience," because his "draft formulas" require 3+ yrs of data.

DMo had 3yrs of good data.

The record of the remaining four prove my point. It shows more why he needs to stick to more data/experience, because he's not as good with less data.

Morey's draft formula has been off a lot.

All GMs that consistently picks outside of the lottery have had issues. Just look at prior drafts and the picks between 15-30.

    Win shares
    Can't rebound
    Conference player of the year
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not too many of those in the second round, so it may work out. If not, = Chandler Parsons.

That's my quota of two *** to give.

His second rounders have to be some conference player of the year or a European player.

As long as brewer is off the team by the end of the night I'll be a happy man. We then make room for gentile who hopefully shouldn't cost as much then trade Beverley and Dekker for mid-late first. I hope we can somehow steal a young pg with upside who breaks out similar to dennis schroder. Trade Capela and fillers for Teague. We then go into free agency with backcourt locked in and can focus our money on sf and bigs.

And despite blowing half a dozen picks with that formula, misses out on Crymond.

In the 2008 draft he picked Joey Dorsey at #33 in a trade while passing on the next three players who we're 34th Mario Chalmers, 35th DeAndre Jordan and 36th Omer Asik. That stings a bit even though hindsight is 20/20 and the draft isn't an exact science, but overall he's done well in the 2nd round.

This draft is loaded with Bigs.
