I miss heavyweight boxing, this boring stamina **** sucks. Sure Mayweather wins, and I guess if the tactic works keep at it, but the fights are boring for about 6+ rounds. I will say I am surprised on the 10 round thing, that's pretty good for McGregor (regardless of age etc). Now let's see the ufc match. I don't particularly like either guy, but it would have been funny to see woman beater Mayweather lose, or even have had some better competition. They waited way too long for that Pacquiao fight.
He simply just doesn't take many clean punches PLUS hits more, he doesn't win by running. Honestly, what is wrong with winning by defense? Sure, not exciting, but it's a win. Also, how can he get Conor DQed? Who throws hammer fists in Boxing? Even if he was baiting it, it's on him not to break the rules. I mean Conor had to know that ish was illegal and he got away with that and that holding around the waist way too often. Conor didn't seem to mind getting tangled either so that he could try to hammer fist him and hold his arms lol.
I seriously can't blame Mayweather for ducking his head. McGregor was an incredibly awkward fighter. Floyd had no other option considering he wanted to stay close.
Ya I think Harden is a b**** too for doing that. I hate seeing harden try to draw fouls to only turn it over half the time. He needs to ball up and just score and stop trying to rely on a foul Ya you may be legally allow to exploit the rules but doesn't excuse you of being a b**** and I often call harden on that too I honestly think we lose games sometimes cause hardens bullshittining to much trying to get foul calls
Teddy: McGregor made Mayweather, a gourmet chef into a short order cook SAS: Isn't it still Fast food?
Terrible comparison. Harden is punishing bad defense. Floyd fights like a cat and runs away the entire time trying to win based on weak puches and hit %. Harden plays the game. He drives and if you reach he teaches. Dont hand check my man. If harden tried to play basketball by kicking the ball up the court then you would have an accurate comparison. Floyd is the smartest fighter, the runner. The runner picks and chooses his battles. He only fights when he knows its a sure thing. He is undefeated because he can escape any bad match.
I haven't seen a UFC fight in my entire life but I did muay thi for a little over five years(****ing hate ju jitzu) but everyone knows score cards don't determine fights because who ever plays defense normally wins The offensive fighter always has a lower hit percentage because he has to throw 5 punches for the other fighter to throw one and open up. It's not really respecting because you're winning off points Not knocking mayweather because he has a amazing "legacy" but I think the road he took was him picking fights/being a p***y Connor threw hammer fist because Floyd kept ducking down and the announcers even called his ass out on it so don't act like it didn't happen Floyd did **** him up though once he lost his legs
Not really a terrible comparison. Both take advantage of rules. You're letting your hatred for one specific person distort your view on things.
The only time you can use your hands on defense in basketball is if you go for a steal or block/shot contest. You cant play defense with your hands otherwise. When defenders reach out to cut harden off he gets three free throws because he is savvy. It would have been two points otherwise....possibly an and one. Here is a much better comparison: A rule exploit which took advantage of the allowing the shooter to land rule was the reggie miller rule before it existed. Kicking out on a jumper is an unnatural motion. It gives the jump shooter more space to shoot because the defender gets tripped up and can seriously sprain their ankle if they land on his foot. It is hard to guard someone who does this because you get kicked/tripped/hurt or you give the shooter more space then you would to shoot. I dont hate either mcgregor or mayweather. I consider one a joke and the other king of a fake sport.
Anybody that honestly believes Mayweather "ran" in this fight either didn't watch it or saw it with their "I hate Mayweather" glasses on. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand the hate for him, Lord knows I do too, but he literally stood directly in front of McGregor the entire fight. He even went "full offense" as some people have put it.
This is like stealing money for these 2. Ridiculous pay days for a glorified sparring session. I can't believe people actually paid money to watch this.
I think Mayweather could have knocked him out in the first three rounds, but there was probably some sort of mutual agreement that they would take the fight past six so that both sides could say they have a victory. Worst boxing match I've seen in a long time. (The undercard Davis- Fonseca was much more entertaining) Brilliant marketing strategy though. No wonder both of them seemed ecstatic after the bout.
Mayweather would be done really fast in a UFC match. Did you see how many times Conor was ready to body-slam him, but held up? I'm actually surprised he was able to stop that, yet not stop with the hammer fists. Both should've been equally ingrained in him. This **** was fixed. *but entertaining. And I don't care, I'd pay for it again just like people continually pay for Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. Don't @ me, brahs. **plus, hoes were out for this fight. They were brilliant to do it with NFL in pre-season and NBA in off-season. If they did it at this same time next year, everyone would be in again. Same as Halloween... it's ridiculous, but we show up every year.
Floyd averages more punches thrown (not only hit %, as you suggest) in nearly every single one of his fights, it's funny to still see this bs "he runs away" narrative.
He fought all champions and competitors basically, I also think many people are vastly overrating Pac. Mayweather made champs look like amateurs and fought the hardest hitters, fastest guys, technical guys etc. Pac wasn't an all-time great in his prime, there's no reason to think Mayweather wouldn't have dismantled him the same way he did when they finally met. Also, it's weird to see how so many guys say Floyd waited til Pac got older, but disregard that Floyd is older than him. Age only counts for Pac?
I thought it was a very reasonable. Pretty entertaining. Mayweather really didn't run every much this fight. Why does this even matter. If you are better at boxing or MMA you are going to do boxing because the money is so much better at the upper levels. McGregor went from a no one to world champ is 4 or so years. How many people in Boxing have you heard of that started at 22 that ever became any good. All those guys started when they were little kids. McGregor has beaten one very good fighter in aldo. The rest of his resume is not that impressive. Guys like GSP, Silva, Jon Jones, who defended their tittle multiple times against multiple legit fighters are more impressive however they are never going to make Connor money cause they can't sell like him.
