are you trying to use gas prices from the economic collapse in dec 08 are do you want to use honest numbers when gasoline was $3.50 not adjust for inflation, actual dollar amount from dec 07?

I would expect you to be honest on this subject.

minimum wage workers are overpaid......try talking to someone who makes $7.25 and you'll realize why they make that. I had buddies in high school who worked construction in the summers for $15-20/hr.....a decade ago

the value of someone's skill set is it's value. What I want is for these strikers to better their position by increasing their skill set instead of using force to try and get more for their current skill set. The reason I want this is because the latter is ineffective.

Raising the minimum wage would lead to anyone whose skill set has a value below the new minimum wage getting fired. How is that stimulating the economy?

I think I have the correct Dumbo poster in mind.

Such a prince of a man. He skims outrageous profits off of drunks who use his ATM machines at bars. His uncles all cheat on taxes at their convenience stores

Good thing he is probably too lazy or not smart enough to screw us all on Wall Street

I really think he would feel better to live in India where the poor are actually starving. It would make him feel more important

The very epitome of a guy who can't enjoy a good meal unless others are hungry

minimum wage is meant for those young people just got out of high school or drop out or part-time student
it wasn't meant to be your permanent job for the rest of your life
if you can't get a skill to improve your wage
    that's your own problem
there is no reason for the government to help you out

Ummm...Americans are more educated than ever before, yet more and more of them are being pushed into low and minimum wage jobs.

You should actually learn how the economy works before you comment on it, and also it's not good practice for you to post while Greeting at Walmart.

    Back to work dude.

I see your point about the protesters. I'm guessing a good chunk of them aren't even "real" protesters. The average fast food worker makes $9/hr so they aren't on the minimum wage data for the most part.

There's some good data on the makeup of min wage workers if you feel like browsing thru it.

There is very little evidence that shows raising the minimum wage causes people to get fired. There have been many studies done on it. CNBC highlighted this again today as well. Yes I know it is surprising and counter intuitive to see, but it is the reality of things. I did a little research and I was surprised to see it.

Index minimum wage to cost of living, CPI, etc.
I agree the one size fits all minimum wage is problematic.
