if he can tighten his handle then yeah but otherwise no the work ethic and drive is there but can he dribble like a real NBA pg?
I think that there are some valid points made and some of the bashing from you guys are a little uncalled for.. Lin has the speed, size, court vision and most importantly, attitude to succeed as a point guard. Have you ever heard him complain after being benched in the 4th? Have you ever heard him use his injuries as an excuse? Remember the atrocious start he had to the year? He managed to get better. Remember he had a lousy 3 point streak going on? He improved as the year progressed. It is a good sign that Lin can improve his game during the course of the season. What more to say about what he can do in the off season? I remember Morey has said that what Lin lacks in his game is his shooting. His defensive rotations are shaky as well. The good news is that all these can be fixed with practice. If us as fans can point out all these weaknesses of his game, I'm sure that he himself knows about it more than any of us, being a professional basketball player with high bball IQ. Do I think that he has contributed enough to the team this year? No, to be honest, I'm disappointed after seeing what he CAN do during his time with NYK. But lets have a little faith, give him time to improve, after all, we've not yet reached the stage that we are competing for a championship. We are still building towards that and I am VERY confident that Lin can play a important role in achieving the Rocket's ultimate goal. Peace.
Lin is like a menu item. Each month his fans add a new flavor... 1) Tony Parker 2) Manu Ginobbli 3) Mike Conley If he were a menu item to me, he would be... 1) Regular menu item - Sweet and Sour Turnovers 2) Playoff special - Deep Fried Spare Ribs
You can't really compare their stats. The Grizz play slow grind it out ball while the Rocks are up and down the court. It's like comparing QB's from running teams with QB's from passing teams in football.
Conley put up basically the same numbers this season as 10-11. He's a little more efficient now, but there's not really that much difference.
If you want to be really racist, you could finish the menu off with mango pudding and fortune cookies!
True, but that can't excuse bad play. And the Rockets still play a decent amount in more typical, half-court sets. A player has to thrive in any type of play, especially once the playoffs come around (i.e. more half court sets, slower game speed historically speaking)

Ooh Oooh Zboy- you're so clever. Now can you make one up with a black player and reference Chitterlins and Collard Greens... and after that, make one up with a Mexican player and use Tacos and Refried Beans? In fact, you should start a new thread b/c I bet it will get 5 stars for sure!
I agree with OP. Mike Conley is not an all-star and Jeremy Lin won't be one in three years either. 5 star thread.
