"I hope not" [Impulse post] Did anyone see this? If posted please lock the other one... Anthony did say he doesn't want to be a rental player. That would be a situation in which he's traded to a team for which he doesn't readily agree to sign an extension. "I don't think so,'' Anthony said of that possible situation in which Houston is believed to be the team most likely to trade for Anthony without a commitment for next season. "I hope not. But you got to ask upstairs.'' http://nba.fanhouse.com/2011/01/20/...ture-carmelo-still-expects-to-be-trade/#cntnt
Understandable. Carmelo's in a tough position. He wants to play in New York for his next contract, and that's his right. Its only proper for him to express that desire to the Nuggets, so that he doesn't leave them high and dry in the summer. And he doesn't want to go to a team that he has no intentions sticking with either, because again that makes him look like the bad guy.
I agree. I think Melo has handled this situation pretty well with all things considered. He's doing the right thing by giving Denver the chance to field offers for him rather than getting their hopes up, Lebron style.
