It's the only way to get him for more than 2 years if we are operating over the cap.

I live in Dallas and am around obnoxious Mavs fans daily....... trust me they aren't sad about him leaving. His defense is not even close to what it used to be........ offensively he misses bunnies a couple times every game, can't even handle the ball w/out it getting stripped.

    No thanks to Marion.

You've described Parsons on defense and Lin on offense

Actually that's pretty much Parsons on offense too

Basically tit for tat. We will be getting some contribution. If Marion is acquired, he'll be a good vet contribution off the bench. This is better than having players who played critical roles with this team with gaping holes in their respective games. We make up for what we have lost with more than half the price.

Depending on a major transaction for Dragic/Bledsoe, I'm all down for giving Marion the MLE.

If we get Marion, we start him at the 4.

That's a very good all-around team, yes, we give up size, but he's a good rebounder, defensively we're really versatile. It also strengthens our bench cause Tjones would eat up 2nd units.

Jones could not eat up third string bench players

Can Marion play in a Moreyball system and be effective?

Marion on the Spurs would be so strange.

If we could get Marion on contract for MLE for 2yrs (preferably the 2nd year being a team option), that'd be perfect. A lineup of Bev, Harden, Ariza, Marion, and Howard has 4+ defenders. Then, when Harden or Ariza comes out, Marion could move to the wing and TJones can come in at the 4. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. What are we saving the MLE for?

Marion is a stop gap a best during a year when we can't possibly win. His skills overlap with Ariza, and I don't have confidence that McHale will be able to build a system in which his offensive liabilities at this point in his career can be covered by others.

    Pass, barring crazy low contract.

One of the most Well Rounded and Versatile ballers to play the game that brings Championship, Playoff, & Olympic Gold experience. No brainer move unless Rox are aiming and expect to catch some other BIG fish.

Marion next to DMo in the post would be a good Off/Def balance

With Marion we'd actually have a chance against LMA's ridiculous jumpers. If not, expect another 1st round loss.

I like the idea of Marion to Rockets. Need some vets with these young guys too.
