I totally and whole heartely agree. Absolutely terrible. Even the action sucked. Reloaded was much better than this crap. I was totally dissappointed.

Yeah, they left the ending so open, they shouldn't have even bothered with the second two movies.

The first one was so perfect, I loved the build up to the climactic end. Then the second one just added too much confusion and the third one was like a soap opera with expensive fight scenes.

Neo was supposed to be about saving mankind. Instead he turned into his undying devotion to Trinity, which was never really well explained in any of the movies. The reason I liked the first one so much is there was just a crush between them and each of them went about the business of saving humanity. Then the second and third ones were more about him and Trinity being together. You never saw Han Solo acting like that with Princess Leia, sure they flirted but the Star Wars trilogy wasn't filled with their undying confessions of love. Just plain cheesy.

The love stuff was hinted at and it was important to the movies because Trinity was told by the Oracle that the person she would love would be the One.

I prefered this one to the 2nd, but if you think about it, the last two were really one movie, like. . .Kill Bill.

The story ended up being unsatisfying, I enjoyed the action a lot though. I don't know, but regardless what the W. Brothers say, they probably didn' t write the story for the last 2 until after the finished the first movie. I don't think they even had an outline done until after the first one was a hit

    ****************Spoilers********************
BTW, where were those machine guns on the Ships in the first movie when they claimed the only weapon they had against the Sentinels was the EMP?

If there was till sunlight above the "scorched sky," why wouldn't machines do the logical thing and build huge towers with solar panels that break the cloud cover? Or flying machines to just harness solar energy?

When Trinity sees the sun and goes "beautiful" wasn't that from another movie? I swear that's a line from another movie, but I can't remember.

It couldn't get more cheesy if they had written it with a cheese filled pen while sitting next to an electrified cheese machine on the cheesiest day of their lives. Having said that, the special effects were awesome.

    A couple of things though:

    1. More Morpheus was needed. He did crap all in this movie. I really wanted to see him kick major ass. Instead we are stuck with him taking a back seat to Jada Pinket Smiths character, whom we hardly know anything about.

    2. Hugo Weaving was the standout performer of this film. He did a wonderful job, and saved this film from becoming a total flop. Agent Smith is by far the most interesting character.

    3. The ending was pretty sucky.

    4. Bring on Return of the King, baby!! It will make the pain go away.

Revolutions will go down as one of the worst films ever to have such lofty goals.

The story takes a turn for the absurd as we see the Oracle explain why there is a different actress playing her part, and we have the W brothers telling us that human beings have no reason for existence. The sophomoric writing really drags the visuals of the movie down. Too much time is spent on preaching and not enough on sharp story telling.

There are two pretty spectacular action sequences, but somehow they don't equal the action in Reloaded, which is the best in the trilogy.

I thought the acting was better in this film than in Reloaded, which isn't saying much. Morpheus was much more toned down, and Keanu was actually pretty good. Or maybe I'm just getting used to him.

Instead of answering many questions of Matrix fans, the movie glossed over the answers and tried to fill in the blanks with even more over the top action. Maybe to leave room for another movie?

My take: As bad as it was, I liked it. The Neo - Smith battle was exactly the type of over the top stuff I've come to expect from the Matrix movies. It's just too bad the rest of the movie couldn't have had anything as cool.

What really anoyed me most, other than the bad/cheesy dialog, was that it was never explained why neo had his powers outside of the matrix. After watching Reloded i thought that neo was some kind of program and what we thought was the real world was still the matrix. Also, if Smith was the antithisis of neo why couldnt he exist outside of the matrix?

Maby we should start a spoiler topic to discuss and/or b**** about this movie.

If you played the video game, you would understand that the Bros made Niobe a major character, which is why she became such an integral part of Revolutions.

The video game has movie footage of Niobe meeting both Persephone and the Oracle (and their conversations, as well as Niobe making out with Persephone for some bizarre reason), plus seeing the Matrix get overrun by Smith, plus how the Logos got stuck without power in the tunnels...plus appearances by the Train Man.

I dug the movie. But I liked the second one. Especially the second time I saw it (last night).

Yeah yeah, that's interesting and all, but did you know the one of the Wachowski brothers is having a sex change?

Mild mannered cheesy writer by day.

Sex change in the afternoon, and woman by night.

Just saw the movie and I thought it was awesome but it ended with myself desiring more. I was hoping for a better conclusion but i believe that the Wachowski Bros. wanted us thinking again. The Action scenes were great and made you want to join in.

    *I was hoping...........

I was hoping for a 5 years later kind of thing at the end......hehe.

I believe the oracle said that he had powers outside of the Matrix because he touched the source at the end of Matrix 2. Correct me if I'm wrong somebody.

I really feel like many here that there really was only a Matrix 1 and that the Wachowski brothers lied in saying that it was always a trilogy. The only reason that I enjoyed Matrix 2 & 3 was because the first one was so special.

1 and 2 were way better than Revolutions. I was real pumped for it, but it wasn't that good. The action wasn't that good, I didn't like how most of it was in the real world where cool stuff doesn't really happen.

    *****SPOILER*****

I didn't pick up on it, but my friend did -- anyone else realize that Neo failed? The source said that he would kill him if he failed. Well, by Smith taking over his body failed, so he killed 'em. In case you couldn't tell, Neo was dead the last time they showed him. The ending really pisses me off because the Matrix will be restarted. The little girl asked if we'd ever see Neo again and she says "one day" or something -- point is Oracle and The Architect were talking at the end there and it was all aluding to it being restarted. I guess Morpheus and all them would rebuild Zion though....

    Reloaded, definitely much better.

I still can't decide what I feel, but it did give me a couple of "HOLY EFFING SHEEEEET" feelings.

I'll post my review when I have my thoughts gathered.

Awwwwww ****. For once I totally agree with Nomar about a movie.

Great action sequences, superb job by Hugo Weaving, way, way WAY too many questions left unanswered or insufficiently answered and a godawful ****ty copout ending. But...somehow, through all of that, I would say I enjoyed myself. What sucks is that, as good as the first movie was, this trilogy easily had the potential to be the greatest of all time, and it really let me down.

    ******************* SPOILERS ********************

What the hell kind of ending is that? The machines make a deal to keep peace and free all humans that want out? Exactly what behaviour of the machines in the past gives us any reason to believe they would live up to such a promise? They are machines, they have no logical reason to keep their word.

Definitely agree with Nomar that it was cheesy to have the Oracle give some half-assed explanation of why it was a different actress.

Pretty ****ty explanation as to why Neo could control/kill the sentinels at the end of the 2nd movie.

The human guy that Agent Smith possessed did a magnificent job of imitating his speech mannerisms. I really enjoyed that.

It seems to me that the Wachowski brothers left way too much wide open after the 2nd movie to sufficiently answer all the questions I wanted to have answered. Things like, what's the deal with Merovingian? Does Persephonie have some larger role in all this and what was the deal with her wanting the kiss? The old man council member from the 2nd movie seemed highly suspicious to me in some of his dialogue...I fully expected him to be a traitor. Instead, he had like 3 lines. The explanation of Neo's ability to control the machines was laughable. After the second movie, that was the most intriguing thing to discuss, for me. Was there a Matrix within the Matrix? Did he absorb power from Agent Smith when he merged with him at the end of the first movie? I busted my brain coming up with all the possible, cool and intriguing solutions to that question, and how do they eventually answer it? Like two lines from the Oracle saying "Your power goes all the way to the source, you could always control them, you just weren't ready for it." THAT'S NOT A GOOD ****ING ANSWER. I WANT SOMETHING MORE DEEP THAN THAT. SOMETHING MORE CREATIVE....b****.

Seraph was good, though. Did seem like a bit of a copout with the one action scene where they are all running around behind the pillars shooting each other and jumping about. Way, way way too similar to a similar action sequence in the first movie.

    *sigh*

I guess it's back to anticipating Return of the King. :(

I guess I have to agree with Raven and Nomar now that I've had a little more time to think.

    ***************SPOILERS*********************

From a spritual aspect, I found it interesting that Neo "Died" with his arms spread out, very similar to Jesus dying on the cross, I think that can tie in with the religious symbolism. The movie is just too much to process right now, all the human emotions, all the machine emotions, all the little exceptions and doublespeak. It all doesn't really make much sense.

Trinity's death was kind of a sudden thing, but still you could see it coming from a mile away. The guy who played Bane did an incredible job of talking just the way smith did. If you're seen The Animatrix, you understand more of why it was the kid who ended up being the one to open the gate.

These are highly entertaining movies, but I would have enjoyed them a lot more if they were more intellectually stimulating.

I mean Return of the Jedi was a cheesy movie by all accounts, but at least we get the "Happily Ever After" bit at the end.

OK, I just got done seeing this pile of garbage. Albeit my hopes were high, but I half expected a decent movie. This took all of my thoughts and theories about "reloaded", laughed at them, beat them, took them around the corner, giggled and proceeded to piss on them.

I didn't expect perfection, but I damn well expected half of what happened in Reloaded to have a meaning!

    *******************Sopapillas*********************

The entire Merovingian/Persephone parts were completely unnecessary to the plot. Filler, and nothing more.

The keymaker was bad enough, but the "Train man"?!? Why the hell was this even in the movie, and hoe the hell did Neo get there? What's for 4, guys? I got one! How about the ring master, or the bell hop? Pure idiocy!

YES! WE GET IT! Neo died so the rest of us could live! Sheesh! Care to point anywhere closer to the bullseye, idiots! This movie seemed to dumb down the entire experience of the first two.

So many more things to b**** about, I'll come back later.

    Pure crap!

After reading all the professional reviews, i went into this movie with little expectations. However, this movie blew me away with it's awesome visuals and fantastic philosophy and religion integration that was more than what i expected.

    POTENTIAL SPOILERS:

The rain scene, Neo seeing fire, and the sky visuals were all simply too much, i was almost having an excitogasm.

Neo sacrificing himself into the cross at the end was awesome. "Did you know this would happen"..."No, but i believed." Stunning. The philosophy in this movie continues on covering the meaning of life, how every action has consequences, and various religious themes.

    BIG SPOILER:

The only thing that i did NOT like was the death of Trinity. Where in any philosophical sense does the "Trinity" dying fit into anything - there is no such thing. This was hollywood integrated into a very deep movie, and it took away from my view of the movie. It was all about the love story over the meaning behind the movie, and i didn't like that. Also, they prolonged that scene and left me almost bored for a bit in the movie - the rest was GOLD.

Hey agree that the dialog was cheesy in this one, but saying it was cheesier than Star Wars? I dunno, Star Wars was pretty damn cheesy.
