Absolutely. If Obama increases capital gains taxes, the market will drop like a rock. It would be incredibly r****ded for Obama to do such a thing, yet it's being considered. Stupid.
Didn't basso say something about not hanging his ass out anymore? After this and Prop 8 thread I can only conclude he must have been posting drunk when he wrote that.
i fail to see what the problem is. i post facts in each, and for some reason you're offended. i'm truly befuddled.
i don't recall you celebrating Condi's appointments, or bemoaning the trashing of michael steele, et al. feel free to search my posts on those subjects.
This is clearly Obama's fault, because, you know, the stock market was doing so well in the months leading up to yesterday, and particularly when McCain was leading right after the Republican Convention, right?
The stock market dropping is not a result of Obama, just like most Presidents actually have little to do with the economy anyways. Legistators have a much bigger impact on the economy with tax laws, business laws, etc. Anyways, the true test for the Dems will be whether they can survive holding as many seats as they have if the recession stretches into 2010. If we come out of it in 2009, strongly, they'll have it locked up for a while. If the recession stretches into voting periods for 2010, it'll be hard. People vote with their pocket books. If the economy is good, incumbents and their party stay, if its bad, their out. You can almost track McCain's polling numbers directly with the stock market drop and the financial mess. People voted with their wallets like they almost always end up doing.
My god. FOX News went on and on today about how this had nothing to do with Obama being elected and mentioned that when it was obvious he would be elected over the last few days the markets went up. If you're going to talk about something know what you're talking about, please.
Look dude, maybe you saw a different show. I watched one of the reporters on fox news, early this mourning, blame the market on an Obama victory, in a interview with a guy from there business channel...I think you need to check yourself.
these are the threads that help me realize why i must never come back to D&D. wait, what am i doing here?
dude....you need to check yourself and realize the bs that spews out of "market reporters" on a daily basis. they randomly pick 1 news story and use that to justify the move for the day and about 90% of the time they are dead wrong. i am a trader. trust me on this one.
Cavuto doesn't know what he's talking about? Color me surprised. If you watched Shep Smith right before Cavuto and basically said what I said earlier.
the stupidity of the original post is that the quote is saying that the market dropped on the economy, despite obama being elected. but that's par for the course for the basso
