Ummm, Canaan hasn't shown us anything, much less the tenacity of Beverley. If Canaan becomes another Beverley, then by all means, we can explore a trade. But at this point, I'd rather trade away Brooks and Canaan than even think about trading away Bev.
Beverly is that guy at the Y that actually plays defense, hustles, and completely messes with everyone's mojo. You hate playing against him and are always happy when he ends up on your team.
Patrick Beverley is unique, he does the same things Fat Lever did. Lin goes way way waaaaay before Patrick Beverley goes.
Lets see here... Maloney, Brent Price,Brooks, Lowry, Dragic, and now Beverley.... Pay the backup, and watch his backup outplay him.... Rockets PG Circle of Life!!... I think we should trade him rather than pay him
Thing about Bev is he's absolutely perfect next to a ball dominating 2 guard. But as the sole or primary creator in a backcourt he's not as effective. He's like Rafer with slightly better D and much better shooting. I think most teams realize this and there aren't too many dynamic SGs in the league currently that would work well beside him.
The fact that OP threw that out there + thinks we have a player whose last name is Montejunas tells you all you need to know. LOL.
beverly reminds me alot of Tyrone Lue for gusy that dont remember, he was a defensive menace adn known for his defense agasint Allen Iverson in the NBA finals beverly wont impress you with his stills, intelligience or talent but the guy is pesky and does the little things that help your team win w timely rebounds, snatching loose balls, steals, man handling opposing players etc. i think he is our enforcer and too valuable to trade. tyrone was the AI stopper, beverly is the Westbrook stopper
