I don't think you guys are realizing how good the Heat would be if they had Asik at the 5.

That's the worst thing about a Bosh trade. Bosh is the perfect guy next to Dwight. However, Asik is the perfect guy in the middle for the Heat. And to make matters worse, you'd have to throw in Lin and DMo or Jones. While I think Bosh is the best fit..I simply could not/would not do that trade because I believe it hands the Heat about 4 more rings.

if your trading for bosh, its not gonna be centered around asik. it wil include lin, likely going to a third team, and picks. sending lin somewhere like milwaukee for ilyasova to miami makes sense. although we would have to send them a prospect or pick also.

its doable and like jux jolt you have to be weary of how good your making the heat. That being said you always worry about making yourself better first and foremost.

so lets take a look at this and break it down. We send Lin and future 2nd to Milwaukee. In exchange they send Ilyasova to Miami. Milwaukee gets better. they get a pg they need and some marketing. they know have a solid young team in order to build on. consisting of a starting 5 of Lin/Mayo/Butler/Henson/Sanders.

We send Asik/T.Jones/1st/rights to k.pap to Miami in exchange for Bosh. Miami gets better. They get a defensive anchor down low they so desperately need and a decent replacement for Bosh in Ilyasova. They now have a starting 5 of Chalmers/Wade/Lebron/Ilyasova/Asik. The good thing is Ilyasova and Lebron can switch back and forth from the 3 and 4 for defensive purposes and mismatches.

So we lose Lin/Asik/T.jones/1st/2nd/rights to k.pap for Bosh. Leaves us a bit thin at PG, C and less depth but its worth it because it makes us better. A starting 5 of Beverley/Harden/Parsons/Bosh/Dwight is savage! smith is still here to be the backup 5, dmo at the 4, casspi at the 3, garcia at the 2, the weakest spot is PG now with lin gone. Thrusting beverley into the starting spot leaves us relying on brooks and a rookie in caanan.

But its worth it for sure.

As for bogut and barnes, NO THX...

Two potential targets in Asik trade:

    1. Al Horford. (PF/C, 3 years remaining at $12 mil/yr)
Horford might want out from Atlanta. The Rockets would need to outbid Bulls' potential package of Boozer/Deng/Gibson + Bobcats 2016 unprotected 1st round pick. Being in the Western Conference helps.

    2. Kelly Olynyk (PF, Celtics 1st round pick this year)
This guy can become good if he bulks up a little. Olynyk is a 7-footer who can shoot from anywhere on the floor. He is very tough to guard because he's very fluid for a big man. Olynyk and Victor Oladipo were the top 2 players in Summer League.
Celtics are rebuilding, so Rockets would need to acquire assets by trading Asik to an Eastern Conference team that needs a healthy center(Wizards, Cavs) for draft picks. Celtics already have Sullinger at PF.

Perhaps a trade of Asik for Paul Millsap after December, who has a good contract and would allow Atlanta to move Horford to PF.
