You're probably right. These veteran officials tend to get an ego and become a little too sure of themselves.

All I gotta say is: we better get a ton of calls when we come back to houston. If not, well, you know we can't do anything about it, so we're out of luck.

screw the refs... what gets me the most is the ESPN coverage. OMG where the hell can we find some Houston coverage. The stuff that gets me the most was how excited they sounded when Dallas was making its run. I love the , "it's 2005, so T-mac can palm the ball and go up for a jump shot."

I don't see anyone calling Terry for flop after flop and all those impressions Dirk was trying to give NFL scouts to try out for defensive tackle.

I'd gladdly take the rap for you. Count me in. So does anyone know how the refs leave the building, where what hotels they stay in?.....

Huh....... I mean.....Does anyone know an address I can send my strongly worded letter.

    :D

Yup bad call. If they are gonna call that BS, then atleast be fair and call it the same on the other side. When Tmac, hit that ridiculous 3 pointer over 2 players in the 3rd quarter to beat the shot clock, he was slapped on the hand by Dirk. If Stack got 3 free throws then Tmac shoul dhave gotten And1 for a 4 point play.

    My biggest objection:

Remember towards the end of the game, when Dallas actually started playing "defense" on McGrady (oh, yeah...that guy's a superstar and he's on fire...why don't we press him?!?!)? They were using two guys, and hounding him until he had to give the ball up.

Well, they fouled him just about every possession. In a season when the slightest bit of contact with the ball handler has become a foul, they were bumping him, slapping him, obstructing his movement, and commiting 13 fouls a second. But they didn't call one. If such defense were permissible, then nobody in the NBA except Shaq and Stoudamire would average 20 per game. You can't play finesse if that kind of defense is permitted.

But. Oh wait. The Mavericks are down late. Better not call those fouls...

...the objection that they're ticky-tack is lame. They illegally hamper McGrady. That means a foul should be called.

Agreed haven. All I, and most others I suspect, ask for is, consistency. If its a foul in the first second of the first quarter, then it should be the same in the last second of the fourth quarter. If its a a foul committed by a rookie, then it should be the same for a Superstar. If its a violation of any sort for team X, then call the same for team Y. Why cant the refrees treat the NBA like a professional sports league, like its supposed to be, instead of treating it like a fraternity?

Reality to brooksstephens, why bother having refs then? Why not just have the Rockets play 3 on 5? TMac and Yao, great talent, but hey don't worry, we'll take care of them. TMac will still get his 20 points just on having taken enough shots and finally justify the MeMac label; oh and, think Yao has stamina problems now? Don't worry, we'll make sure he collapse 3 minutes in the game.

It's ridiculous that you don't think the so called star calls, homecourt advantage, etc don't constitute lousy reffing. So basically you are saying that the NBA prefers some teams winning over others, yet you find nothing wrong with that. Hell, if refs are getting paid for doing this, I can do it. And I wouldn't b**** about getting paid less than 100K for it either. The only thing more ridiculous than blatant acts favouritism is your pathetic attempt to justify them.

PS. The Rockets didn't get the calls in the PLAYOFFS, playing at HOME in 94/95 either.

I didnt catch it at first but I noticed it when i was watching the highlight clips R2K provided. Noticed what Dirk does after Tmac strips the ball from him late in the second half. Ball is loose and Bowen grabs it to pass it to a sreaking Tmac. As soon as Bowen passes it out, he is friggin tackled NFL style by Dirk. If that isnt a foul, I dont know what is.

Dirk is lucky it was only Bowen who he brought down. If it was someone like Oakley, he would have broken limbs for the next game when coming into the lane.

I think I recall Crawford calling some of those games. Didn't he get into it with Glide?

I think the refs feel that the rockets were just too damn good. Anytime you start looking to give the other team an advantage like the refs were doing for dallas, it can only mean one thing: the other team is being outmatched by the Houston Rockets and the refs want to even it out a bit. that’s what the refs do, they’re in the business of evenin things out, of making a game out of it - for the fans - for tv ratings. They tried their damndest to do it but it was to no avail - the Houston rockets will not be brought down to their opponents level by the pitying refs. Rockets 1. Refs 0. It's a good thing the refs pity the Mavs, the outmatched team gets the pity from the refs.

    That was Jake O' Donnell.

Then Bob Lanier's wife called the NBA Commish and *poof*, O'Donnell is gone.

Amazing. I wish there was that much passion for this team.

You're right, unfortunately they will probably try their hardest to even this series out tonight. All we can hope for is a semi fair game. I gave up hoping to get the majority of the calls when I became a rockets fan.
