    Heh.

Yeah I'm searching far and wide for the Intellectual Man Cave, maybe some theology professor, or something, who has all these dusty old tomes next to his trophy case.

Good cigar lounge tip boomboom, thanks

I got a pretty sweet "man cave". I have a huge open area in the upstairs of my house. I bought two rows of black leather reclining theater seats (cup holders and all that of course). I built a platform for the back row and carpeted it so it sits higher than the front row (like a movie theater). I bought a HD (1080p of course) projector to shoot on a 128 inch remote controlled motorized screen that has a huge gain (thickness). The screen feels like sandpaper and it framed out. I have a extra xbox 360 up there to play games and stuff. I painted the angle of the walls Rocket Red of course, and bought a crazy thick (almost like a mattress) red shag rug for the floor in front of the theater seating. Bose surround sound, but thats the next thing Im replacing. I want to add built in speakers in tha ceiling, which will be my summer project.

My office at my house is a sports shrine. I have tons, yes tons of Rockets and NBA stuff. I'm probably about 4 shy of having every Rockets giveaway item ever. Yes ever. I have insane amount of basketball bobbleheads, figurines, and autographs. Way to much to ever list or even post pics of. I would spend a few days in photobucket just uploading the stuff. I also have quite a bit of DJ equipment. I have all the stuff to scratch/chop/screw cds live without a cpu (Numark). I have all the crossovers to fade it in and out with other beats, and recorders to slap it right down on cd. A serperate Sony surround sound for that too. Mics of course too as I like to rap (and sometimes sing, although Im not the greatest). Just a mini recording studio, for fun purposes only.

Before my divorce and moving out of my house, I had a room set up like this. The house had two master-ish rooms (one upstairs and one down). I made the downstairs one my "man cave".

I had black futon with Rocket red pillows. Had a HDTV (actually tube, last of it's kind). I had my XBOX 360 and a Samsung all-in-one home theatre system with 5-disc DVD changer. Sounded pretty sweet playing NBA2K and Madden through with all the speakers set up. I had a smaller TV hooked up next to the HDTV also hooked into the satellite receiver. That way I could watch TV or sports on the smaller TV while playing my 360. I also had my computer desk and iMac in there.

Had a Yao jersey framed on one wall, another wall I had an old Playstation basketball game poster (one of the giant ones from the store) with Hakeem as the cover boy. Also had a giant portrait of Teddy Roosevelt I made with a stamp pad and my fingers (highschool art project) on that wall as well. I made a Rockets hat from cardboard and markers to put on him as well as a Rocket '94 Championship key ring I put on him as an earring. Oh, had the lifesized measuring poster of Yao they gave out at a game one year also on that wall. Another wall had a poster of both Yao and TMac from the Rocket shop and in between the life-size measuring poster of Clutch they gave out at a game a couple of year ago. In the corner of the room, I had a book case with windowed doors that had some memorabilia in it (sort of what was pictured in a post above) and my detailed Yao and TMac bobbleheads that I bought from the Rocket shop ($80/piece) on top of it. Also had a dancing Clutch bear between them. Above my desk, i had a poster commemorating the first Texans game ever against the C'boys. The room had a sliding glass door in the middle of one wall and a curtain covering it up. On each top corner of the curtain, i had one of those flags you hang out of your car window.. one Texans, one Astros.

During December, I put up my Rockets Xmas tree in there. 6 foot with red and silver bulb ornaments as well as ornaments I bought from the Rockets shop. Red and silver garland and a Rocket foam logo (like a foam finger) as the tree top.

    I think that's about it.

Xerobull -- Missed this earlier, thanks, awesome.

That site you mentioned? Yep, it's great, he's great, and we're partnering with him for the book -- we'll be using tons of those photos. Some amazing stuff there.

Soon I'll be setting up interviews with some of those Man Cave owners, some of which might show up as sidebars in book. Let me know if you'd be interested. (Here's my email: jeffwilser@gmail.com.)

    Thanks again--

Amazing. Any chance you have photos of this, high quality photos? Would be great if I could sneak in a Rockets Cave.

No, I never took any pictures of it. Sorry.

Wish I had though just so I can grieve. Sniff! Sniff!

my mancave contains a very well-stocked bookcase and i use it to get caught up on my reading all the time. it's a den in our house so, it's kinda cramped with my 51" hdtv, my couch, recliner, and two bookcases. framed dmb concert posters and an awesome framed picture of an old school blake's lotaburger sign on the walls.

the new house we're building will have an entire upstairs for the mancave, complete with a bathroom. it has been renamed the fancave since we'll both use it. i'll be adding a wii and some surround sound to that. hopefully a record player and subsequent collection in the future.

my mancave never causes problems. we each have a set of shows we watch that the other does not, so we go to separate rooms to watch those (or for me to watch the rockets).
