I think Bosh is one of those players that you HAVE to try and get, if you get the chance. The guy is only 25, in the top 3 in his position, and is very attainable. With that being said, I still think it's possible to somehow get Bosh without having to give up Scola. Maybe a package of Brooks, Hill, Battier, and the NYK first rounders is enough to get Toronto to bite.....if it is, I think I would do that in a heartbeat. I love Brooks, but I think Lowry will be an incredible PG for this team once Yao comes back.

Luis Scola should be allowed to retire as a Rocket. He is one player that you don't give up period. He brings the desire that most NBA players don't have. I wish the team would just concentrate on bringing in a shot blocker rebounder to spell Yao. If Bosh is brought in here it will ruin the chemistry on this team like the Pippen and Barkley deals eventually did. Like I have said all along this team deserves to play along with Yao and if it is not working out by next season's trading deadline then you make a trade but not before.

Why not just go after Rudy Gay in a SnT with Memphis? We could use an athletic swingman who can create his own shot as well. Give em....Battier or Ariza/Jeffries/Draft picks. That's a lot cheaper than Bosh. Then to solve the big man issue, go after Marcus Camby. Would be GREAT as a backup center, and we also get to keep Jordan Hill, to go along with Scola.

    Broooks/Lowry
    Martin/Budinger
    Gay/Ariza or Battier
    Scola/Hill
    Yao/Camby

I'm sure that lineup wouldn't be too hard to convince Gay to come.

    This ^

Seriously what is up with people, Bosh at 6'11, has a skill level that's in a whole different level than Scola skill level, plus Scola hot streak of late is coming against weak competition(Wolves, Detroit, Wizard, Nets) the only exception is Denver but they weren't really playing the greatest of defense.....

However that's not to take away from Scola's hot streak, the guy has been playing great....

Because Bosh is more like a primadonna player than a real TEAM PLAYER...
Just check what he always have expressed, he wants a franchise to be built around him....

I don't know why it seems your urgent desire is to get a very expensive PF, worrying more about his stats than about what's best for the team....

I clearly see the PG position far more deficient currently, we have a SG with the body of a PG and a good player like Lowry, but not enough to be the starting PG of a ring contender....

a SnT could be done to get a star level PG, using players like Brooks (high trade value), Ariza, draft picks and Jeffries as a Salary filler..... And getting Camby as backup big guy.....

I mean, isn't it obvious that PG position need more the upgrade than PF spot?

Landry was on the team most of the season and Scola is a team player that never complained about splitting time with Landry. Landry for the most part finish games in the fourth where Scola would not be playing. Scola is finally being the player he is with more playing time. Bosh to me lacks heart and does not go all out when things are not going well on a given night.

Bosh is great, and definitely a positive impact player, but I somewhat agree -- I'm not sure he's worth his ego and contract.

Either way, thread might be moot. Rockets might not even have a choice here. Who's to say we have any real shot at Bosh?

But especially if Hill develops into even a decent option at PF, then Bosh is probably not necessary... Would be nice if we could find a way to land him while keeping all our best players, though.

No one is saying Scola is Bosh's equal......but to get Bosh if you have to give up MORE than Scola, you may be making a negative impact on the team overall.

I think Morey is just going to improve the team by getting a star player whoever could be available, so Bosh is the one you can think about. However, the level that Scola is playing right now, I do not know if we should go for Bosh. I prefer to keep Scola as well as a drift pick from the Knicks, which could be very high.

what about getting Bosh and benching Scola?

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Bud
    Ariza/Battier
    Bosh/Scola
    Yao/Andersen/Hayes

Who are we gonna give up? There is no way we keep Battier or Ariza and Brooks without Scola's involvement in the trade.

Very true. I rather see what the team does when Yao is back next season. The team should be given the chance to play with Yao if it does not go well you still can make a trade on the trading deadline.

I was trying to find a little more info on Bosh and ran into a metric I found intriguing, the "combined points, rebounds and assists average." For comparison's sake, LeBron James leads it at 45.6 and Bosh places 6th at 37.7, Bosh being the highest rated power forward. Luis Scola over the last 5 games comes in at 43. That's an insane number. Sure, it's for the last 5 games, but my goodness! 27 points, 2.2 assists, and 13.8 rebounds per game, and shooting 60% from the field, 86% from the line in 42.8 minutes per game. Luis averaged 5 turnovers a game during that stretch, but had 4 against New Jersey and 2 against Denver, trending down.

Just mad, crazy numbers. I don't know how long this will last, folks, but while it does, enjoy the ride!

    There's a thought.

This trade would work straight up. Nothing else required, no draft picks. Hell, we might even be able to dump some salary if Bosh really wants to leave Toronto. Given Yao's injury history, it probably gives us better odds at winning a championship... Unfortunately it does not make sense from a marketing stand point. But I would do it.

15.6 and 8.9 from an over-acheiver isn't the same as a guy that puts up 24 and 11 every night. I love Louis, but you're kidding yourself if you think Bosh can't add to this team. You could trade him for Yao and come out feeling okay.
