There is no dilemma. if you have a chance to get Bosh and the deal would have to include Scola you pull the trigger.

Um, no. That is absurd. Gasol is a legit 7 footer who currently has the most polished offensive game in the nba in terms of post scoring. Also, I don't know what games you watch because Lee's defense is subpar whilst Gasol is at least above average. Most GMs believe Gasol is a top 20 player in the league. I'm not certain where to rank Lee because there are too many players that are better than him. He is not even a top 10 pf. Other than being 3 years younger, why would you not trade for a player that is better in every aspect of the game? Perhaps you are a New York GM. Ask yourself this: if you were LeBron or D Wade, who would you rather play with... An "aging Gasol" or Avid Lee?

How come the rockets have been in the middle in terms of attendence since yao has been here? Yao makes money for the nba moreso than anything and I'm not going to get into this again. If they offered boch in exchange for yao straight up, you don't hang up the phone. Bosh is the better, younger player hitting his prime. Maybe toronto can sell yao and allow bargini to play dirk like pf which is what he is.

I guarantee you i watch more games than you dream of watching and i bet any gm in his sane mind would tell you bosh is the better player

I know bosh is a better player than yao or luis. I know bosh is 25 vs 30. I know someone will pay or trade for bosh and give him max. Are you going to continue the argument from the last thread about defense wins rings?

Leeb, even if that is true, which I won't say (assuming that Yao is healthy), I just can't see Les doing it. He has a lot invested in Yao. Check out the advertising inside the Toy Box during games. I watch all the games on LP and have noticed many, many times the Chinese-directed ads mixed in with the other ads playing. He went so far as to have the current uniforms designed to clearly have a Chinese influence. Just look at the font and tell me it doesn't suggest that.

We're talking about more than just performance from Yao, although it bugs the hell out of me from a basketball point of view. I want to win. I want the Rockets to win. Whatever combination of players that can win and contend (much harder to do) with future Hall of Fame Coach Rick Adelman, his excellent coaching staff, and the players Morey gives them to work with is my paramount interest. Not the players. As it happens, some of my favorite players, like Luis Scola, also happen to be winners on the court. :p ;)

Lee is easily the better rebounder and a very efficient scorer. I can't say I see many NY games as I've always thought his defense was better as he could hold his ground. Looking at the stats (on court/off court, drtg), he has been atrocious on the defensive end. This is enough to Gasol is easily the better player.

You and others seem to think because a player scores more than the other that makes him the so called better player.Yao may not score more than Bosh but he is what i would call a all around 2 way player that also makes his team mates better.Does Bosh make his team mates better?

I understand that deckard and i think its a poor startegy, but what can you do. I've seen the asian advertisments on the floor and stuff, but a team like dallas doesn't have that and produce more revenue than the rockets. I know cuban is a go getter, but still. I'm just saying if it were me, I would trade yao for bosh and resign scola and have a bosh, scola, hill 4/5 rotation. Shaq is retiring soon and and yao is injury prone, so the day of the true center is gone. Howard plays center, but bosh kills him, but you do have to deal with lakers. I feel better about having bosh, scola, hill, and whomever vs lakers than worrying about yao going down and consistently being put in pnr and giving up jumpers.

What is the rockets record minus yao vs the raptors record minus bosh. For some reason, the rockets have shown they can win just as many games without yao as they can with him. Thats not to say yao isn't a good player, but do you really want to base any future success on a guy who has missed almost 3 seasons worth of basketball over the last 6 years?

I think that this may be a case where the stats don't tell the true tale of the tape. Gasol is the better board man then Lee but Gasol has two 7 footers with him at any given time(Bynum, Odom) who both avg close to double digit boards. Gasol is also a much better defender with his length and Lee plays NO "D" I mean NO "D" and his board numbers are more a product of who he plays with or doesn't play with and system then anything else. If the Knicks could get Gasol they would jump on it like YESTERDAY, no question IMO.

What was Gasol's problem in Memphis with grabbing boards?

Might as well buy a 88 hyundai excel with 200000 miles on it. Show me one team who would bet on yao staying upright and playing 35 minutes a night. Then after you use the argument of he only needs to play 25 mins a night, show me a team that has ever had their highest paid player play 25 mins a night and win a title.

Yao has one more year on his contract, if he doesn't perform well in limited minutes, I would not be shocked if he were traded.

I would trade him for Bosh today.

What are you trying to prove? The same thing in the other thread by posting you tube vids? I like how you say for now at the end. Can you say if every player in the league were free agents that yao would go before bosh?

Now you are playing dirty! I can't believe you wrote a post that advocated signing and keeping Scola, even if it's a hypothetical.
