Anyone know Dragic's PER when Bledsoe is NOT playing? Lin's PER is pretty high too I believe when Harden is out.

LOL. Yeah, he's as bad as the Lin fans. This guy believes the Rockets has let a "great player" go.

Dragic is not some youngster out of high school or college. He's in his prime. If he was a great player, he would have been an all star by now.

Dragic has been shooting and playing very very well with Bledsoe out of the lineup. I hope he keeps up his shooting efficiency when Bledsoe returns. But your post does bring up a good point, as much as I think Dragic is a really good PG I don't see him ever becoming an all-star. PG position is too stacked, especially in the West.

That said, it's not like we're sucking so bad at the PG position that it justifies pining for Dragic's return. (Which is the exact opposite of Lin & Knicks' fans). I would still be okay with either Dragic, Lowry, or Lin/Bev next to Harden.

If Morey really does want Dragic back, I'm sure he'll get an opportunity. If Bledsoe continues to play well, Suns could put Dragic on the move to make room for other improvements.

Its about the player option. Its OBVIOUS, like Larvs8 pointed out, to keep the capspace for Love, thats why they're 3 year contracts, and Morey didn't mind bidding a bit higer to make sure he landed Lin. But aap seems set in the idea that our number one goal when had one of the best pg tandems in the league was to chase at the time an unproven, post injury Lin, and that not choosing to give Dragic a player option is insulting because we gave one to Howard.

You don't sacrifice flexibility on 2nd tier players. You sacrifice it when you can land superstars, and we have that now.

Ridiculous to lose talent over a player option - but Morey doesn't need my approval and he has built an amazingly deep team, so whatever he did, certainly worked out.

You could say he got better talent.

Harden and Howard > Dragic and Lowry
and Lin isn't far behind and/or even better at times.

Yeah, I think he upgraded the roster overall by downgrading slightly another position - and even that downgrade is debatable in how much of one, if any, it was/is.

Overall the Rockets being where they are is INCREDIBLE considering Yao was only like 3 years ago....

We lost Yao and Tmac within 1 year, that is devestatingly hard to overcome.

Morey did it....he has my allegiance for sure.

For record purpose only. Jeremy's PER ranked 9th among the PGs on Dec.1, 2013.
It is also interesting to note that Jeremy's PER keeps sliding down on a daily basis. It was 18.84 on Dec. 1, and 18.77 on Dec.2, all after he got injured and out.
This tells me something. It seems that the PER system does reward those who keeps playing, or penalize those who are sidelined, even though the PER is supposed to measure the players efficiency. :)

Also don't forget, the reason for refusing to do the player option is because their number one rule was maintaining flexibility until they could nab a franchise player. While Dragic was good, he wasn't worth the loss of flexibility that might be needed down the road. That loss of flexibiity might not hurt, but it might. And Morey being able to stay flexible enabled him to nab Harden, and get Dwight in free agency. I like Dragic but Lin is pretty close. It worked out. I don't mind losing a little talent to maintain the needed flexibility to make the real targeted moves. As evidenced by the Harden and Howard contracts, Morey doesn't have problems giving options to superstar players.

PER is also adjusted for the league and team so raw components are adjusted on what the league and team does. The world is not out to get Jeremy Lin.

The observation is made on Jeremy's PER for a couple of days only, yet the conclusion is not Jeremy-specific. Please do not be allergic to anything Jeremy-related.
Besides, the observation is very limited, and the conclusion may not even be true. Take it easy.

I'm gonna assume from how the Suns are doing with Dragic and Bledsoe... no.

Lin was doing better earlier. Coincidentally, Dragic has been beasting while Lin was injured.

Lin, Lowry and Dragic really aren't fairly comparable right now. They play completely different roles on very different teams.

Dragic gets a lot of time at 34 minutes per game, and flexibility to shoot or handle the ball how he sees fit. He gets burn both as a SG and PG.

Lowry has some freedom and time at 36 minutes per game, but also suffered somewhat due to having to play with and ball feed to the Gay-Derozan duo.

Lin plays the most limited minutes at 30 minutes per game, and has very limited freedom in that he only plays the PG role sporadically with Harden and even with Beverley. He's also asked to play spot up shooter or off ball PG a significant amount of the time.

I would be hesitant to directly compare role dependent stats like PPG, P/48, APG or A/48. I'd be less worried about looking at play specific stats like shooting percentages, points per possession or stats derived from points per pass or drive. As those tend to be isolated events that are less defined by role opportunities.
