I actually like Dragic and Lin. So from a neutral point of view, my man Goran was trash in tonight's game and could be better. Same goes for Lin, who also had a trashy night and kept getting stupid fouls. But in the end, the two of them were comparable with Lin showing better passing skills. But one game doesn't mean jack. The only owning done was by the entire Suns team on the glass. And that probably has more to do with the fact that we ran out there with SG/SFs that don't rebound playing the PF position.
They kneejerk too much... Lin is improving and he will get better He is emotionally down because of the trades ... he needs time to recuperate he is shown flashes to score with the best ones.... he needs to consistently be aggressive and be a low TO guy and continue to shoot shoot shoot when it is a good shot
Players get traded all the time, he's going to be heartbroken if we ever trade for another superstar and lose more players.
Dragic was awful the first 3 quarters but unfortunately the difference was Dragic wanted to win it for his team in the final minutes while Lin seemed a bit discouraged since he wasn't playing well.
It just shows that even if your starting PGs suck for 3 quarters, the coach still has to stick with him down the stretch, consistently. Phoenix did it, Dallas did it in the 2nd game of the back to back with Collison, and they helped close to win. When your coach isn't consistent, don't expect your players to be consistent.
For the people freaking out about replacing Lowry and Dragic with Lin, you do realize that Lin is statistically out-playing Lowry and Dragic is shooting 3's worse than Lin, right?
I don't think it's the stats the ppl r complaining about because they are very similar. I just think its that when Lowry and dragon player for the rockets they were never this inconsistent with their play last season. What's frustrating is Lin has literally Allstar level games were he looks very very good and then follows them up with games were he looks like a complete scrub and shouldn't be on the court. I'm not talking about his stats either every player has bad games in terms of there numbers being off but Lins bs games he seems like he he doesn't belong and is not even NBA rotation worthy of a player. With that said I think he can and will improve in this category and fall somewhere in between. I don't know if he will ever be a Allstar and if I had to put money on it my bet would be no. But I do think he can be a starting caliber pg on a championship level roster and be part of the best backcourt in the NBA. James harden is a superstar and what's most important for Lin is to learn the best possible way to mesh and make harden a better player. This is what's most important for the Houston rockets.
^ True but I wish some fans had a bit more patience, considering this is a new team and teammates, this is essentially still his rookie year, and he's still raw. Lin will be fine 2 years down the road.
True that. But i will let lin have a summer camp wherein he could train his shooting more and not be coming off an injury. Then, without all those obstacles that hindered him from the start, i would begin to judge him. hoping also that with much rest and a renewed focus on what he is supposed to do on the team (knowing this time that harden is here, unlike last summer camp where the beard wasn't) then he could focus on a new style optimally that fits with harden. cheers to potential, and once again, patience is a virtue
it's about green light, Dragic has it, Lin doesn't. The coach has dragic's back, whilst Lin knows if he played like Dragic did the first three quarters, he'd back on the bench in the fourth, and as a result he was rushing shots, forcing bad passes...
Dragic was shut down by Lin for 3Q and this is Lin playing EXTREMELY at his worst. You guys are such JLin haters its hilarious!! I am really upset at lin poor habits in this game seem to be forcing shots too much. The defense and flow was not there either...what a really piss off game. Love Harden he gave us 3 comeback opportunities...yet we still failed as a team.
Umm... Mchale runs harden out there rain or shine, injury or not, 8 TOs or not. Mchale is also the first to seek the Beard's autograph after the game. Listen I think Harden is the man but your question of why harden is consistent despite mchale doesn't make any sense.
This isn't a knock on Harden at all, but this is a bad example that you're giving. How many times have we seen Harden shoot something like 7 for 22? How many times have we seen Harden play like crap the first 3 quarters and then go completely off in the 4th like Dragic did? How many times have we seen Harden turn the ball over at least 5 times from throwing himself in a crowd, hoping for a whistle every time even if he wasn't getting those calls? That person said it best when it's about the green light. Lin was statistically one of the best 4th quarter players last season. Remember the Toronto game? He wasn't playing great until the 4th but still got the green light from his coach. Under Mike Woodson, Lin was 1-11 through 3 quarters in a game against Philly but still had the green light and dropped 16 in the 4th.
Lin was playing well in the Dallas game until the benching. Seems since that he has regressed. Didn't really play well in the win against GSW and carried over to this game. Hope the two are not related, since confidence (starting from the coach) is so important at that level.
Not that I really agree with this "if the coach isn't consistent, then don't expect the player to be consistent" premise, but McHale is consistent with Harden, he pretty much plays no matter what.
