Not just Lowry and Dragic. Lin is better than Chris Paul, better than Russell Westbrook. He is best PG in NBA.

Did Lowry or Dragic have to stand in the corner for half the season?? How do you think their numbers would have been then? Besides they wouldn't have put up with it - the team would have been in turmoil. McHale was lucky he got Lin to dump on.

Also Lin badly outplayed Lowry when they played each other this season.

Get over the Lowry and Dragic thing. Knicks made a big mistake letting Lin go and will look like fools eventually. Let's hope the Rockets don't let him go for the 2nd time and look even worse than the Knicks.

Rockets went with the cheapest option at PG. And right now Lin is still figuring things out - He's an above average point guard. I think he can grow with Harden, but he isn't a top 5 guy at his position by far. If a better option came about, Morey better pull the trigger.

But, Lin is far from the weakest link on this team.

Lowry was a bulldog. Dragic was a confident upcoming point guard. Either would excell with the Rockets. But Lowry for a 1st round (toronto), sealed the deal for Harden.....

Of course he's not top 5 at his position. You don't get a top five player for 8M per year. Look at the salaries for Chris Paul or Deron Williams. Those guys make more than Harden does. And CP3 is in for a raise this summer, too.

Because of the salary cap and punitive luxury taxes, you need to choose where to invest your money. Morey mentioned he'd rather the second star be a front court player, and not a backcourt player. If you get a top 5 PG and a top 5 SG, then that means the rest of your team will have to make due with mediocre roleplayers and crap off the scrap heap in order to fit all the salaries.

Look at the Knicks. They maxed out the 3 guys in the front court and have no money for a backcourt or bench, and have to rely on old guys past their prime. Even their rookies are old.

Miami lacks depth and don't even have enough money to get a decent center and have to resort to moving Bosh to center because all their money is tied up in their big three. And they've struggled with bench problems even after getting discounts from vets ring-chasing.

If you get a top 5 PG to pair with a top 5 SG, be prepared to have little money to upgrade the front court or bench.

I don't think a SG and PG can really bring a team to the Finals. I don't know about the past, but it seems too difficult.

Maybe if Irving and Harden can get together somehow, we can see how that goes.

You can if the other team does not have a dominant PF or C. It's all about matchups.

Can you imagine that? Teams would score 160 points against that back court. I can't think of one team who won the championship with weak defense.

To the finals though, I think you guys got a good point on balance of salary and choice of weapons.

It would be a throwback to the 80s. Rockets would post 120 points on the regular but still be losing and Asik will probably have a brain hemorrhage from raging so much at having to chase around little guards.

I believe that Lowry is better then both Lin and Dragic right now , But a quote i read in Knicks forum says it all about Lowry

I like Dragic's game offensively, where he's better then Lin, but Lin's help on Defense is why he's a better overall player then Dragic and Lin is 2 years younger then Dragic , so I think Houston made the right Choice between the 3

Considering Lowry and dragic are both good 3point shooters, I think they would have been fine.

Again judging players by just one game played. Yeah we get it Lin is amazing for scoring 38 against the Spurs and Lowry sucks for playing bad against Lin. Lowry is the better player right now (if he is healthy), but in the future Lin could easily become better if he improves like Lowry did on offense.
