Tipping at Sonic? Wha??? It's true, I worked there this summer in Katy and most people tipped me. The old guys were the best (not the creepy ones, just the sweet ones). They'd give me like, 10 bucks on a 6.50 meal and tell me to keep the change. One Saturday I worked I made $66 in tips.

The Sonic here in Waco...now that's another story. As sad as I am to say, black people hardly ever tip. But then again, neither do many women or college students.

I don't really *expect* tips, unless I'm bringing out 7 drinks and 3 bags of food and the person makes me go back inside and fetch them salt, and then again to get ketchup, and by that time I'm pretty pissed if they don't give me .50 as a thanks.

I hate to say it, but I've been a black based person for the past 21.5 years and it's true...white folks tend to be crappy human beings

I hate to say it, but I've been a human, male based person for the past 37 years and it's true...I've always avoided working in the restuarant industry.

Actually it wasn't. It was an attempt to shed light on the other comment which was idiotic. It was directed satire.

It is proven that black people as a whole don't tip as much. (if that is what you meant)

Ironically, I've eaten at a CB twice in the last three weeks. Once at breakfast; our waitress was a black lady. Once for lunch. Both times there were back patrons in the restaurant... but then I"m in North Carolina.

I eat at Sonic all the time. And I never tip. Never knew I was supposed to. Still won't. Should have given me a drive up window instead. I never asked for no special treatment. Just want my food :D

The 1 penny tip generally means the customers thought the service was crappy and didn't forget the tip.

If I go out to a restaurant and spend 50 bucks on food, I would tip at least 15% regardless of service.

Regardless of service? Are you serious? A tip is supposed for good service. Not just any service. If someone serves me and I never know they're there... meaning I don't even think about them then I'll probably give 15%. If they're especially good, I'll notice that and they'll get more. If they're bad it will go down and I have indeed left penny tips before.
I don't see how people can just leave tips regardless of how they've been treated.

Weird, I thought you might have topped it off with an Old English and a Newport.
