Our school bus used to go right by his house in the morning. Some of the neighboring houses are much much nicer.
Looks like there were two "Olajuwon houses," a temporary Guest House, and a main house, both with similar architectural styles: http://www.cannadyarchitect.com/olajuwon.html and http://www.mccmarchitects.com/res_hakeem.html It is possible that the one featured in the 1992 SI issue was the "Guest House", and the main house was built in 1996. Not sure about this, just speculating based on what I found.
That may be one of the most beautiful houses I've seen. So unique...wow. Would buy, if it weren't for my teacher's salary .
Really nice home...the outdoor spaces are phenomenal. Would be great for entertaining...if not for mosquitoes.
Showing some strong Barragan influence, along with Kahn and the Alhambra. Miles better than most millionaire houses. Some iffy choices, but still much better than the average.
