My manager rescheduled a meeting from 10:30 AM today to 3:00 PM today. I will be lucky if I get to see the last two innings at home.

Quoted from the "leaving work early thread"
that basically sums up the past two weeks for me right there. i've been skipping like crazy, both class and work. maybe it'll catch up to me, maybe not, but i really dont care.

This playoff run has been a blast and im not letting petty things like my "education" and "money earning" get in the way of that.

    Go Stros!

I guess I could have slipped out around 4 pm today but I decided to just use a half day vacation instead. So, I'm at home now engaging in some pre-game meditation and activity. I plan on making a homemade pizza later to have a few slices during the game. I am also going to the store where I think I'll pick up some chips and beer...or something.

I don't want to miss any of this game and I don't want to feel rushed. Now, I can just sit back and relax until game time. Ah...life is good. This is kind of unusual in that I've never had to do something like this before over a baseball or any playoff game. Thank you, Astros, for giving me the reason.

I'm leaving at 2:30p. Unless Murphy comes along and screws it up for me.

Mine rescheduled one from yesterday to today at 3pm also.

I hope to be home by 5:30 so I can catch the last few innings.

I'm out at 2:00 and if I see Murphy even get close, I'm going to kick his ass.

reminds me of other big time day games growing up as a kid.

    1. i remember when the NBA playoffs used to be done in May, and were held during the day, mostly. NBA Finals games in 86 held at day time during the school/work week. listening to games at school...my dad letting me miss a day to watch one of those games.

    2. the 86 astros...literally running down my street from the bus stop to get home and see how it ended. little did i know it would end much, much later..after 16 freaking innings.

    3. my parents let me skip a day of school in 92 to watch an olympic hockey game...that was fun! it was my last semester of high school...my friends were so jealous!

UNfortunately I have a 3:30 practice I can't shirk. I have to ask our HC why he cancelled yesterday and kept practice today. The good news is, the games I have missed due to practice have generally been good for the 'stros. Hope the trend continues.

conversation with my boss past few days:

-boss: so what do you think of msft (microsoft stock)

-me: well i think backe will take care of things. he had a good game 1.

-boss: what do you think of the nasdaq over the next two weeks?

-me: i think the astros will fare better against the yanks, since their pitching isnt as good as the sox.

-boss: where do you want to go to lunch?

-me: munro will probably have the start of his career.

-boss: what do you think of the oil prices near $60?

-me: damn, i wish the game was at 7PM, so i could go to the gym and see the game in its entirety.
