So if both teams miss the playoffs, the Rockets will essentially get their own balls and the Knicks balls for the lottery drawing for the 2nd and 3rd pick. Good deal.
You seem to be assuming that if we traded that option, the receiving team would get the better of their own pick and the Knicks'. I doubt it's transferable in that way. More likely, if we traded the option, the receiving team would get the better of the Knicks' pick and the Rockets' pick, with the Knicks getting the worse one. In this case, the option is only worth something if the Rockets are better than the Knicks (which I still expect to be the case).
Good thread. I know it's a lot of work, but could you include some advanced statistics in the original post? I'm thinking the actual record and not conference seeding -- if possible to calculate -- would be beneficial.
Yeah, he is still posting on this forum after he got his a** handed to him on a platter last time. He doesn't keep his word.
I thought that the pick for this year was ours outright and next years was the right to swap draft picks.
Wow, even the NY Knicks are looking good. Wins over CHI and WAS. More than that, their offense was smooth and Stoudemire's defense was changing the Wiz's game. Even Douglas was playing good. And their Russian (?) rookie center Mozgov was very mobile out there. DM needs to change the way he evaluates players. We need athleticism; the locker-room attitude will take care of itself. I was disappointed we drafted Patterson whom we are just benching when we should taken a project BIG. Now we're scrambling for veteran bigs who cannot match with the young athletic centers other teams have.
<a href="http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1552/terms_of_rockets-knicks_draft_picks_swap/" title="Terms of New York Knicks draft pick obligations to the Houston Rockets">Terms of Rockets-Knicks Draft Picks Swap</a> As long as the Knicks don't land the #1 pick, the Rockets hold the option to swap picks with NYK this year. In 2012, Houston gets NYK's pick if it's not in the top 5.
Winning against the 1-3 Wizards is not that impressive and the Boozer-less Bulls. I would like to see how they do against a team that has a better than 0.250 record or is not missing their starting PF.
Date: 11-06-2010 Knicks: 6th seed (tied) Rockets: 15th seed (WORST record in the NBA) Current value of draft pick swap: WORTHLESS
A grievous error was made in the previous post. The Knicks are actually in sole possession of the 5th seed.
