I don't know if I need him to grow up. I enjoyed spending the last couple of minutes of the game dancing in front of Cleveland fan. You know, we only dance when we are up big and all.

My opinion of Lebron is that he has handled things well overall. The guy was a multimillionaire and labeled as the next big thing before most kids started their first day of college classes. I can't imagine being in that situation or how I would respond to it.

Having said that, the guy has an ego that appears to growing to a point that is detrimental to himself and his team. The lack of sportsmanship, the showboating and the self-hype in the media are signs that the guy thinks he has already done it all. In reality, he has as many rings as McGrady and he has now been in the league for 6 seasons. Sure, there is still tons and tons of time for him to make that next step but, in my opinion, he has regressed or plateaued over the last couple of seasons. Sure, his game has slightly improved but his mentality seems to be one of entitlement instead of that firey, "I'll come take what's mine" attitude the all time greats had. There doesn't seem to be a humble bone left in the man's body. It's like he thinks the league is going to part like the Red Sea for him and he can just walk past everyone and grab the Larry O'Brien trophy that he believes is rightfully his.

Just my opinion based on what I have seen of him. For the record, Battier has Lebron's number. The gulf in skill and mental focus between Kobe and Lebron is never more apparent than when comparing their games when defending by Shane.

The real reason why Lebron will not work in Houston........no one on this team will do his dumb pregame picture posing thing. Can you see any of the Rox doing that....ok..maybe Yao

Great post. I think it covers all the bases and is spot on.

I absolutely hate Kobe but there is a competitive fire in him that isn't in Bron Bron.

I have no problem with Lebron and I think he has handled the situations well. But this whole "Golden Child" thing of the NBA really piss me off

Yes, Yao's defense present at the paint is overlooked by many media and fans. LB's not a very good jump shooter. He need to attack the paint. He can't do it to the Rockets.

Lebron just doesn't seem that great to me. In this game, you need an outside jumpshot to be great. Look at all the great guards that have played the game. Jordan, Kobe, or even Tmac in his day. When the game is on the line in the 4th, you're not going to get those open driving lanes for a slam dunk. You have to have a killer jumper and until Lebron develops that jumper like Kobe has, he will never be great.

Thanks for staying on topic! I couldn't agree more. While physically Lebron is a freak of nature, his game is still not as complete as Kobe's.

At 6'8" 250 lbs. (More like 270) he rarely gets in the blocks for a post up. If he developed better footwork and post moves he would be unstoppable. His perimeter shooting has improved but still isn't at the level of Kobe or even Wade who both excel in the midrange game.

Loading the paint and forcing the jumshot is still an effective way to slow Lebron down. Still, he's young and will continue to progress, to what level is entirely on him.

I have never once recommended banning for another, but this is so not the spirit of the forum. If you want to blog on how awesome Lebron is without hearing criticism of him, go to ESPN. He isn't perfect in many ways.

I've only watched a few Cavs games this season but does anyone else get the impression that they are coasting through the season? They seem to have regressed defensively as a team and as individuals. Their focus is poor and they are flat out poor sports. I get the feeling they still don't believe that they were beaten by Orlando last year and that it was a fluke. I think those guys think the regular season is just something they have to go through so they can get back to the playoffs and "turn it on" and go get their Championship rings that they think David Stern has ready for them already.

I know that's a lot of assumptions on my part but based on how they played (and lost) in last year's playoffs coupled with the arrogance and lack of intensity this season I don't think it's much of a stretch.

hahahah!! i bet you he had tears in his eyes as he wrote this, "i'm just crying because of the adrenaline, sniff sniff"

seriously though, Lebron has had, what many other high profile athletes have, a publicist that plants stories and handles lebrons image. he got into trouble in highschool, and will again as a pro, i am sure. its the nature of anyone with alot of celebrity. now does it mean anything? no, not really. but what he does on the court is plain for all to see. no publicist can spin that. and the all previous antics shows that he is incredibly immature and a spoiled brat.

he will never be a jordan or kobe. those guys were mentally tough and had an unshakable sense of self. i have watched the cavs regularly and even was hoping to get him on the knicks, but he is fragile. he is only as great as people tell him he is, hence all the immature insecure crap he pulls. he can be knocked out of a game by frustration and god forbid a call doesnt go his way. if he goes to the knicks or the BKnets, he will choke in front of those bright lights. it will be messy, watch.

also, he isn't as good as kobe for all the reasons mentioned before. i agree with the assesment. he will be more like tmac. incredibly gifted but never a champion. my ¢2.
