Management decided to get Barry before Yao got hurt and had Jones as the backup because they wanted to get help for Tracy and Battier after trading Bonzi. Their thinking didn't change after the injury to Yao because Tracy is obviously is our biggest gun. It's evident that Scola,Landry, and Deke need more help than Tracy otherwise we will have a very difficult time to make it to the payoffs. Getting a big man with some skill is much harder than a guard/small forward but management needs to look into it urgently if it's still possible to get it done.

this is the point, we're not just beating them, we're beating them like a drum, and everyone, even the new guys, are playing well.

that play at the end, brooks' pass to a streaking jones, was a thing of beauty.

While this is a definite concern, I feel a lot of the penetration the Grizz guards were getting last night was more due to the Rockets coasting through the game after the first quarter than the lack of a shot-blocking presence. The help defense rotations from the bigs were kinda lazy. They seemingly had no problem stretching out the lead or keeping them at bay the few times they actually tried to make a run.

I'm actually more concerned about defense on teams with big front courts (like Denver coming in on Sunday). I'd like to see how the Rockets handle that on the defensive end, but we do have a superior back court on both ends of the floor that shouldn't have problems scoring or containing dribble penetration.

Antonio Davis? While I would love to see a UTEP Miner on the Rockets again, Antonio has been retired for three years and I don't see him coming back...

I totally agree...When we play bigger PF's and Centers that are good, its great to have another big body that can contribute defensively....

Antonio Davis retired. He's got bum knees and won't be much of anything if we do convince him to get back.
