Why do people hold it against Cato that's he's overpaid? It seems like that's management's fault, unless you think players should voluntarily ask for a salary reduction (which isn't even legal under the current CBA, I don't think).
At this point it is not about the money. It is not whether KC is a legit starter on a title or even playoff contender. It is about what The Kelvinator has done to make himself productive. It is about his actions on the court. I am on his bandwagon. He has earned my respect.
In a word...nothing. Last figure I saw had the Rox total cap as just over $49m. Subtract $7m and were still over the $42m cap level. With or without Cato, all we have is the MCE. Unless you are a lawyer who has figured out a way to circumvent the CBA and trade $7m of contract without receiving any in return, this is the hard reality.
KC is more expensive than Yao. We should start him instead of Yao. That's the right way to spend money.
players should all be paid at a per stat rate just kidding but that might make players work harder though.. but it might result in a lot of ball hogging.
If you remember, Cato came out big time at the beginning of the season, but that was cut short due to a death in the family... He knew Yao was about to take up the starting role, but has handled really well and played with intensity every time he comes to the floor... Awesome Cato...
His stats are great, but watching him, kind of makes me sick. I think its cause he appears to not put alot of effort, into grabbing the rebounds. BUT, he has been doing great, with so many rebounds, his offensive boards, and alleyoops. maybe its just that he plays in slow mo. Go Kelvin!!
