That's how I understood it as well but that first link I posted indicates you can have a pivot after a jumpstop. It even has a video included.

The girls in the video made move 1 as I described.
The text in the link describes move 2.

I hate after the "Pro-hop" how people are allowed 3 or 4 pump fakes. Seems to me your 2 steps are taken & you must pass or shoot, not delay the move with multiple fakes. Imagine a standard layup attempt that after taking 2 steps then proceeded to use (while on the ground) multiple pumps/seconds before shooting. That'd be a travel everytime.

 There's nothing wrong with that. What you described is perfectly legal. You've never seen a person take two dribbles and do a few pump fakes? As long as you keep your feet stable and don't stay 3 seconds in the key it's perfectly fine.

Don't know if this is the same thing you guys are talking about. I play with a guy who always does this: dribble forward, pick up the dribble, take the two steps (like going for the layup), jump, land with two feet, then jump up again to take a jump shot.

I always argue with him that it is traveling. He says no, it's a legal jumpstop move.

The jumpstop is legal, but the question is if he does it and then pump fakes and doesn't get the shot off but instead chooses to start pivoting, is that a travel? I think so but some say no.

i think everyone here would agree that that's a blatant travel.

Is it legal to do a jumpstop in international rules?

Dribbles? I meant steps after one picks up the dribble.

The jumpstart has to count as 1 of the steps. He can't take 2 steps & then jumpstart.

If you're doing it off the catch of a pass, then you can use a pivot foot before you use your dribble.
